need a software to lock complete folder

i need a free software to lock complete folders. Should be compatible with windows vista. It will be an addeed bonus if it's able to lock folders on dvd and cd drives also.

I had once used Easy File and Folder Protection for locking files/folders on HDD. Also check out Cyberlink Power2Go DVD writing softy which enables us to password protect files/folders (see Enhanced Security) on a CD/DVD...

Although none of them are freeware...

If it's just one folder you wan to lock, nothiing beats My Lockbox. It's very simple to use.

I have it enabled for a folder on my C drive and it does not go crazy when I remove that HDD and use the PC sometimes(I have WinXP on F: ). When I re-attach the drive, it hides the folder again.

It's intelligent and unobtrusive. Best part, it's free.

Few others I've Folder Lock, Secure Folder etc. Some are not so easy to use and I believe they're not free.

Will check out mylockbox. Folder lock and other s/w mentioned here aren't exactly free. Thgey only allow you to use it a few times. After that you have to purchase them.
