Need a Wifi Range Extender at best price available

Hi,

One of my neighbor is having internet connection in my neighborhood, we agreed on sharing of it..but there is issue with range of wifi which is very weak in my home...can any suggest a good wifi range extender for the same...cheapest solution required..
 
Yup, buy a chepo tp-link router. Something like the 841N and run dd-wrt on it. You should easily be able to run a wireless repeater bridge on it.
Do note running a wireless RB will reduce the wireless speed to half, from 300 to 150mbps, on the repeater

A 4 lane highway(2 lanes up, 2 lanes down) is reduced to a 2 lane road(1 lane up, 1 lane down). But if only 1 car is travelling through that highway, it will still be able to travel at its usual speed. No reduction in speed is required because of reduction of extra lanes.

A link speed of 150Mbs results in a throughput speed of 20-30Mbs at full signal with a tab or mobile which is a N150 client, its the best speed you can get. It will be double if its a N300 router or laptop.

Since your internet is much slower ~2 Mbs it won't make a difference for browsing or youtube.

But if you transfer files over wifi then it becomes more important. Files take twice as long to copy over a repeater as the link speed is halved. When i want to backup photos or videos from my phone 1GB takes 30-45 mintues to copy over N150. It will twice as long with a repeater.
