Yup for wall that is, dirty maniacs! So here is what I am looking for:

a. Variable RPM
b. Ability to change rotation direction.
c. Ability to change bit with tools, vice-versa.
d. Not too heavy.
e. Drilling with hammering ability.

Yup, I already have Kirloskar drill machine. Looking for a new one.

As my usage does not justifys an expensive buy, I bought a chinese make (Ideal) with all the above features (except hammer, which frnakly is not needed) and a chuckless design with torque setting.. Doing pretty well so far (2 years)..

An offline purchase mate.. Stuff like this is better bought in your local hardware markets. So that you can bargain hard and also get back to these guys if any issue comes, afterall its all no earranty chinese stuff.

Where are you located. In Pune there is a place called Bohri Aali and areas close-by where you get all the harware stuff.. Hardware as in the non computer one..! :)

Get a chinese one, check and try everything before you buy though. These are good for infrequent DIY work and can be repaired incase something goes bad.

Stick to Bosch... Very good quality & pretty affordable. I've Chinese crap & my friend has Bosch. His is far superior in performance & quality.

I have been using one for case modding for the last year or so. Its a Skill drill 550W and has everything that you wanted in the list you gave. Got it from Ebay with a discount coupon...I cant remember how much it was exactly but it was around 2k Plus.,..its not cheap but it does the job for me. I recently put it to use to drill some 2 inch wood blocks as well and it worked just fine.

BTW, Skill is made by Bosch.

there is something called Aura, and you can find it in tradus. I had bought one for 1500/- and it's a great VFM with all required stuff.

Black&Decker, KPT, electrex are some cheaper (than Bosch) and good options. For home use, Bosch is an overkill. Go for some branded machine around 1000-1500 range.

made a list of all brands,

Bosch

Aura - 1500 Rs - tradus

Black&Decker,

KPT,

Electrex

Can anyone give Bosch model number for home use - (Able to drill wood & walls)

Skil 450w with these functions is available at 1.5k (Google machpowertools). can be cheaper with ebay Coupons.

I am back here, need suggestions for one that can drill across 14 inch ( if possible concrete :) ) wall with 10mm width. Please let me know.

every 10/13mm drill can do that. you just need that big a drill bit. those drill through wall bits are available in local hardware store. around 1ft in length i guess.

why don't you borrow a drill from the local electrician? i usually borrow from known people. you just have to buy a drill bit if they don't have it.

Thanks for reconfirming my assumption. I have a Kulkarni Power Tools 500 W drill machine. I guess that will suffice.
