need advice on steps to be taken -COD purchase mobile buy thru online

Hi all

I need info. I bought a mobile phone from adexmart. This is my first time i bought a mobile online and opted for COD.

So my question is by the time the delivery takes place i.e tomorrow i will be at office so my parents will collect it. So before paying money what should they to do?

i mean
1. they should see the parcel is good without any damage. And can open the package and see the mobile box is sealed?
2. Can they check whether the mobile is working by opening and putting battery?

Will courier guys generally wait till then? Delivery thru quantum shipment.. (anybody heard of this? )

Mod: i could not find topic or info on this subject so started a new thread. If it is duplicate pl delete it.

Please suggest.
 
I've heard of Quantum but not any direct feedback about them.

As for the COD, there is almost no chance that the delivery person will let your parents open and check the contents before getting the payment. Checking the surface would be fine i guess but probably not the insides.
If its possible for you then ask the delivery person to come to your office if he calls you before (as they usually do prior to COD couriers) visiting your home or you can visit their office itself once you are done with work in evening and take the parcel from them directly.

I need to check with him abt offices and also my feasiblity. but in case if i take the parcel , will i can open and just see the contents only from outside or I can check whether mobile is not DOA?

As i said, it's highly unlikely that the said person will allow you to open the parcel and its contents without getting the cash first. If it turns out DOA after you open the package then it's between you and the seller, i.e. Adexmart to sort it out.
However, do not accept the package if you see tampering with the packaging. Just plain refuse it.

I received the package. They told him and he allowed to open the package, we checked the contents are fine (no damage) and then we paid him. This went for 5 mins roughly and he waited till then.
