Hi,

I'm looking to get one of the following 256 GiB SSDs off CDW.com:

* Kingston V-series V+ model. for USD $450 (sata3) 230/180 read/write

* Kingston SSDNow V100 - USD $600 (sata3) 250/230 read/write - I think only TRIM and no GC.

* Crucial RealSSD? C300 - USD $475 (sata6) 355/215 read/write

* Crucial non-RealSSD? C300 - USD $530 (sata6) 355/215 read/write

* Corsair Force F240 - USD $580 (sata3) 285/275 read/write

*

Found just this link so far: Kingston SSDNow V100 256GB Solid State Drive Review :: TweakTown USA Edition

Can you advise which should be better for my desktop and/or laptop? Dont worry about what is my budget or desktop/laptop configs - Just advise on TRIM/GC and suitability for Windows7 and Linux use which is what I need :D

BTW, I will try to get OCZ Vertex 3 - my top choice - if possible before early May when I have to make the purchase. :)

OK I have narrowed it down and providing more info on the intended usage for your advice:

Getting either:

* Corsair Force F240 for about Rs 25k - 285 read, 275 write - sata 3gbps :) or

* Crucial RealSSD C300 256 GB for about Rs. 23k - 355 read, 215 write - sata 6gbps.

I intend to use this in my office desktop where a lot of compiling of C++, .NET and Java code happens.

My questions:

* Which of the two do you think is better, warranty/RMA support wise in India?

* Reliability history for use in office developer machine?

* Works well under both Win7 and Linux? (at least TRIM both have, also prefer some sort of GC/auto cleanup feature too)

Thanks a lot for any inputs you can give! :D

(I will probably get the OCZ Vertex 3 sata 6gbps model for my personal usage later when its available and has gotten reviewed under real world usage)

Based on price/perf according to this link: Crucial RealSSD C300 128GB 2.5 Inch / 0002, Corsair Force F120 120GB 2.5 Inch / 1.1a - SSD Comparison - SSD Reviews, Data Sheets and Comparison - ssdreview.com

I'm prefering the Crucial RealSSD.... BUT I NEED your advice on the latest 3 questions posted above :D Pretty please?

Well, looks like you guys are either too lazy or too dumb :-P Definitely too slow.

So I did some more research and analysis and I've decided to go for Crucial RealSSD C300 256 GB model, should have it in my grubby hands by mid-May if approved by my manager :D
