Hey. Lately I've been doing some file sharing from my PC and the performance is very low.
Probably it's because it supports upto 100 Mbps only. And also because it is a low end on-board VIA Rhine adapter; takes significant CPU cycles and gives 5-6 Mega Bytes per second transfer speeds, at most.
So I've figured out that I need an add-on PCI Gigabit (1 Gbps) ethernet card. It should also not give me a big performance hit during transfers. It's very noticeable otherwise on a single core proccy.
I have no PCI-e expansion slots on my Mobo.
What are my options and the prices?
