Guys I have been using XAMPP since last year !!!
as it was there in our college so haven't looked for any other solution around.
but recently wanted to update the version and their got to know about some problem related to it.

So the question is what are the Best Alternatives to XAMPP ???
Should I move to any other Source or is XAMPP ok ???

Please list down different software available which you found better the XAMPP :)

Thank You for reading !
have a nice day / night ahead :D

Other than the ones discussed above I have also used www.ampps.com and found it reasonably good. But still been using XAMPP on most systems without any issue. Any specific reason for shifting from XAMPP to some other platform? Other option is you could load AMPPS or WAMP along side the XAMPP giving it a separate port number. Hopefully, that should work and give you an idea of how the others work in the given environment

I use WAMP,Mostly for beginners it's simple and handy,
both WAMP and XAMPP provide APACHE-MySQL-PHP environment's so if you need any additional pacakge , prefer doing manually (e.g Perl),Hence XAMPP comes with Perl and it's cross-platform,where WAMP support only Windows.:)

It's really confusing !!!
I am new to development and so any addition thing which can help me later is just great !!!

I need php 5.4 + as right now I am on 5.3.8 (didn't updated since a that )
Mysql.
Still no mailing service but in future will need it.

This is all preparation for my t.y project :)
So wanted to konw what professional people use and show I move with something else or XAMPP is good on go.

Easyphp is a better option than XAMPP IMO. You can easily work on multiple sites with adding alias instead of getting dirty with virtualhosts . We can work with different versions of PHP in a single time . Easily find the ini files this is not a big deal but it is there. They also have the beta versions of php to be installed at our risk . Give it a try .[DOUBLEPOST=1365520933][/DOUBLEPOST]PHP 5.5.0 Beta is available as per now .
