need a few tips/solutions smile.gif

i have chked the forums ... bidged mode connection/dialers..
but i`m kinda confused!! sheesh
anyways need to know... a few things..

1) i wanna automatically start and shutdown my computer..
possible right? how do i go abt doing?
if you require a script, pls let me know cause i wouldnt know how to make one/run it!

2)i have just started using azureus 2.4.0.2 .. was using bit tornado b4 this..
do let me know if i have to change certain settings to get max download speed .. i think i have done the needful though ... smile.gif
(only shifted to azureus cause i wannna automate the download procedure)

3) also since i wanna automate , i wanna be able to start azureus automatically... so my downloads would start automatically too( i guess task scheduler right?)

4) i have forwarded my ports... so do i need to be in the bridged mode??

5) also i keep getting disconnected everyday at around 6:40 am sad.gif sucks!! what could be the cause?? how can i solve it? worst is most of the time it doesnt even resume!!!! doesnt matter if i`m on torrents or ftp/http!

let me know if i need anything else tooo smile.gif

For automatically shuting down windows,use THIS
To automatically start your computer,you must have a BIOS which supports "RTC Alarm Resume" (thats what its named on my ASUS A7V-400MX).You can set the time to start up.

I personally prefer BitComet over Azereus as it gave me the best speed (~25-27KB/s on a 256Kb/s connection).You can configure BC to automatically start a download on startup.
You can also use µTorrent which has an option to only download X MB of data evry Y hours.But BC gives me much more speed than µTorrent.

I don't think u need task scheduler for this as each and evry BT client worth its salt has an option to start after windows bootup.

Did not get u here.AFAIK u only need to forward the ports which ur BT client is using.

Which ISP are using and ur on cable or DSL?Also,r u sure ur ISP is disconnecting u?Check ur background applications like virus scanners etc.

the problem with mtnl is that if you start your connection b4 12 or disconnect it after 8 then it shows that you have used up a lot of Mb`s sometimes 2 mb or sometims 50mb.. so it goes a waste !! (`im using the night plan)

so wanna be able to

1)autostart my comp... (then ya the torrent software too would start) :)

2)then wanna be able to dial my connection..

3) then download stuff

4)then disconnect b4 8am :)

all automatic :)
 
system shutdown and restart is pretty old u can make a shortcut on ur desktop with these commands

%windir%\system32\Shutdown.exe -s -t 00 --->shutdown

%windir%\system32\Shutdown.exe -r -t 00 ---->restart

just by clicking this shortcuts u can either restart or shutdown :)

rather then clicking on an icon i just press the power button to shut down! :)
 
well i asked this in another thread (briding two connections together but no one replying)

anyways ... my query is .. that i already have a triband connection on one phone line

i also got another mtnl line.. so i`m thinking of getting another triband connection on that line !

now the thing is that i`m not taking the night plan on this line. .. currently no money i got..

so wanna take the 256 kbps 400mb plan for 199 bucks...

and the one i already have is the mtnl triband night plan..

what i want to know and do is to bridge the two connections together...

but i wana be able to do that on the fly..

i mean connect the two together anytime i want.. and disconnect anytime i want... is it possible?? how would i go abt it?
 
ok i have done the following ..

1)got my router into bridged mode ..

2) created a .bat file to connect at 12:02 am(scheduled it, and it works :).. and another to disconnect ad 7:55 am.. (though i got a small utility that just shuts down my comp at 7:55.. so dont use the disconnect.bat file)

now i wanna know how i can start my comp automatically...

can i use my triband to wake up my comp? but then how would that be achieved??

there is the option to " allow this device to bring the computer from standby" but i couldnt figure out how to bring my comp back on from standby? how do schedule that??

ok.. i figured out a way to start my comp :)

from the bios. the rtc alarm :)

just chked and it works too :)

so now just have to schudule my programs.. to start :)

awesome :)
