I would suggest to look at entry level models from Soundmagic and Xiaomi. Beware of fakes.

Any reason for avoiding in ear? I find they are great for long usage without much issues, unlike earbuds.

If you are looking at cans, in entry level, Philips only will be in budget.
 
Are you looking for earphones or headphones? Because most non in-earphones are actually bigger than in-ears and are quite uncomfortable.

Then it might be really hard to find ones that are really small. A good in-ear with a small body shell, if used with small buds should fit properly. But then again, everyone has different preferences...[DOUBLEPOST=1473169455][/DOUBLEPOST]I think over a decade ago I had a pair of JVC earbuds that fit quite well and sounded pretty good too as a result. They were kinda wedge shaped instead of the usual round crap. no idea about model etc. though
