Audio Need good Voice recorder <4K

Someone I know needs a good voice recorder. She has to record people singing (upto 30 - 40 minutes at a stretch).

She also wants the device to double up as an "iPod" i.e. it should have the capability to play mp3s.

Any suggestions for about 4K MAX (ideally it should be around 3K)?
 
hello? no replies? Please give me suggestions! I need to buy this tomorrow!

(Currently I am looking at the Sansa series by Sandisk, but am unsure because I don't know what the recording quality is like).
