On a Journey called Life :P

Today was just going throughout this thread and a question came in my mind !

It was :

How in the world should I start my Carrier ?

Really my head is spinning off now from the fear of landing up on a wrong or not at all on a Job

Lets see :

1) I sucked at my S.S.C with 56%

2) I really sucked at H.S.C with 53%

The things started rolling in my favor and was able to some what concentrate oN studies and then .....

3 ) Got passed with First Class in B.Sc. I.T this year from mumbai university! Thou not from a big reputed college !

Now I am pursuing 2nd M.C.A from a normal college in Latur ! Again financial problem so no Mumbai or Pune for me.

its only 1 year for me to think ways to atleast get to interviews !

I was selected by Seed infortech in there CRP Campus Pre-Recuitement 2014 program - know not a big achievement !

I like Coding and desinging part !

I know how to code in Php, Java, C++, HTML 5 and CSS 3.

I do know asp.net and C# but really poor at it.

resently 3 of my degree college Jounior Cracked Infosys interview from which only one is really good at academics and other 2 need help in even passing test in class !

So if they can why can't I ?

And only answer I Get is : Screwed in H.S.C

So now the question is :
1) where am I heading ?
2) what should I do ?

and can some one also guide me abiut how to get freelance work ?

I saw freelance.com where we have to bit and get the job ! But how should I ?

Freelance atleast till I complete education !

I can't afford certification in any field right now ! Financial conditions very very tight !

I hope I haven't messed up things and people got what I am trying to say !

Its better I get guidelines now then later on when I am complete from PG !

Thank You for going through my thread !

Have a nice Night / Day ahead :)

When attending interview always sound positive towards their questions like are you willing to do night shifts ..will you be able to manage over time due to extra work ...

Your best bet would be concentrating on 2nd and Final year to score good %. That should fetch you a good job and don't be over confident during interviews.
Meanwhile You can start building small websites for small business/ events for reasonable price and earn a bit(10-15k/mo if you know coding and stuff), Try working out together with other freelancers.

By the way its Career not carrier.

Dude your hsc ssc scores are way better than many others here. So just chill concentrate on your graduation.
And only TCS need min 50% marks in all your academics IMO. So there are 1000 of co.s where you can happily apply.
And now that you know coding, its upto you to decide where you wanna head towards- software/systems/networks/web designing etc.

Most big MNC's have a minimum academic percentage requirement - TCS/CTS/Infy.

My suggestion would be to join a small firm first and once you become technically proficient, jump onto the MNC's if you want to switch.

And start brushing up on your English. Some MNC's give higher preference to people who can write/speak English rather than who are technically better.
Even if you don't like such MNC's, do brush up enough so that you can communicate effectively. Unless you are able to understand the requirement/able to make others understand the requirement, it is very difficult to work.

I am confused about the roles in the industry!

Like what should I look for in advertisement for a opening ?

How should I know that this is the opening I should really go for !

If its clearly mentioned that they need a programmer in bla bla language then its ok but as I have seen, the advertisement makes me confused and my confidence go down regarding if I can opt for the job or not :(

I know this are very basic questions but how should I deal with them ?

I don't want to land on a job at which I scuk !

Um no. I am not sure on CTS but TCS/Infy don't leave the mark benchmark behind even when you have experience. They ask you the same details over and over again, as if having 60% throughout is some kind of medal.

That said, op, for one don't beat yourself up. A job is a job, even if it was Seed Infotech. You have done well to crack through. Nowadays many people don't even get a job. Secondly, you are thinking too hard. Again a job is a job. Every one of us wishes to join Google or thought when joined Infosys or a TCS or a Wipro that the job sucks. But thats what puts the first step in your success. Many of us are where we are because of that.
When I gave an interview, the aptitude test had C++ array questions and I had no idea. Guess what? A friend of a mine who was a CS passout couldn't solve them whereas I used some twisted logic and got through. In spite of that we both earn well. The moral is go for every opening you find. Having a job is important, specially considering your financial constraints.

Not every company look for your ssc hsc marks, they look what you have studied and your experience.
And being a fresher, company would look for the candidate confidence and knowledge about the post they would be hiring.
Rejecting for the reason of low marks in hsc is silly excuse i feel.
