Hey,
So i got this phone a while back.
liquid E - Ferrari special edition - Acer Mobile

Even posted it in the "show off" topic. Bought the phone 3 months before, but only started using it a month before.

SO here's the problem, The phone shuts down automatically during calls, well, 90% of the time during calls, its even happened during browsing. I tried everything, Format the memory card, Factory reset, even updated the phone to 2.2 froyo, but still no help. The problem was very random, worked fine a few days, and bam out of nowhere it would keep shutting off, 1 hour later it was fine again.

Since the phone is in warranty, i thought it was a simple matter of getting it replaced, but no. First of all, there is no helpline number for acer mobiles. Nor any info on Acer Service Centers for mobile phone in Ahmedabad. I finally got the address through the service centers of laptops. I went in explained my problem, i could clearly tell that the guy had never handled that particular phone nor does he have much experience with Androids. He examined the phone and it kept shutting off in front of him, even though he removed the sd card.

After 2 days, i went back, he said he installed the software again and now the phone had no problems, which was stupid because i had already done all that and still the problem persisted. I took the phone back, worked fine for a day, and same thing agian. I went back to him, NOW this time he says the problem is with the memory card, which even though he removed the first time the phone kept shutting off.

Now its pretty clear to me that the guy is NOT gonna replace my phone, i would just like to know what are my options here as a customer, a customer with a defective over priced product under warranty.

Does anyone have any info on whom i can get in touch with, or any info on acer customer care for mobiles?

Any help is appreciated!!!

There has to be some Phone support or something? try threatening them..

Also remind me WHY did you have to go for Acer, arent their laptops pathetic enough? :(

Try emailing them

Code:
ail_easycare@acer.co.in

Also, get the Bangalore Office involved in the matter:

Acer India (Pvt) Ltd.,

"Embassy Heights"

6th Floor, No.13,

Magrath Road,

(Next to Hosmat Hospital)

Bangalore - 560025.

Tel : +91-80-25329520, 25329521, 25329523.

Fax : +91-80-25329535.

If everything else fails, Get hold of the dealer who sold you this phone.

Best of Luck

Thats the thing, they have NO support centre. Just that one tiny little office, with those two retarded HTC employees, who have never seen that phone, have no clue as to what's wrong, and have no interest in replacing the phone.

I called the PC, projector helpline service, and even he said they have no information on mobiles, just the address of the service centre, which i already visited, twice.

But after refusing to end the call, he finally gave me an email id, so gonna go with that now.

Seem like this is not gonna be a smooth sailing, gonna have to jump through a few hoops, gonna mail them wait for a few days and then go to grahak suraksha or something and file out a complaint.

I am a gadget freak, have bought a lot of thing, but i have to say this "Impulse Buy" was my biggest mistake, i can't believe that such pathetic service is even possible for such a big company.

Edit;

Saw the post above, thnx for the info, the mail i was given was:-

acer.cc@intarvo.com

so gonna mail at both the addresses and wait for a couple of days.

GODDAMMIT

Got really annoyed, exchanged a few angry words with the technician, and guess what, according to Acer's "Limited Product Warranty", they will only repair/replace parts of a product, NOT under any circumstances exchange the product.

When will i learn to read the fine print, so the best option i have is that the bozos at HTC are not as retarded as i think and they can detect an obvious hardware defect and replace whatever needs to be replaced
