Hello all,

Ram: 4GB
GFX: 9800 GTX
HDD: 1TB
Proc: ??
Mobo: ??
PSU: ??
Cabinet: ??

Please suggest all the brands and hardware that I can/should buy with budget of 60-70k for these 7 things.

Thanks in advance.

RAM - 2*2GB corsair - 1470*2 = 2.9k approx

HDD - Seagate 1TB - 5k approx

Proc - Intel Q8200 - 8.8k

Mobo - Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L- 6.9k approx

PSU - CME 650W/corsair 600w+ - 4k

Cabby - CM690 - 4.3k

GFX - PAlit HD4870 Dual Sonic 1GB - 15k approx

=42.9k

u can get better stuff with this also but if ur budget was 80k approx.. u could go for i7 setup

^^ Actually, i think a decent core i7 build is within his budget.
@TS
What are your requirements exactly?

i can stretch the budget up a bit if it is really worth it..but i dont want to spend loads of money if it just means a 1-2% performance increase

main requirement is gaming. Games played wud be latest titles and world of warcraft (it might seem like an old game but its really CPU/RAM intensive)

@lethal

GPU: evga 260 core 216 [via KMD] ~12.5 k

PROCESSOR: i7-920 2.66GHz i-920 ~15150

MOBO: gigabyte X58 - UD3R-SLI [via KMD] ~13k

RAM : 6GB DDR3 [via KMD] ~6k

HDD : WD BLACK 1TB ~7k

PSU : Corsair 650W Power Supply[CMPSU650TX] ~7k

CABBY: Antec Nine Hundred - Black ~6950

OR

CoolerMaster CM690 ~4.4k

OR

CoolerMaster HAF 932 ~8750

TOTAL COST<70,000

:hap2:

And i am sure you would be able to play all the new games with decent frame rates with this config !!!

is i7 really worth the difference over core 2 quad?

also, if i go for core 2 quad, which model shud i go for? i have heard Q6600 is good? plus...any recommendations for the motherboard chipset that is good along with it

^^ i7 is a better performer than a q6600.
Also, a q6600 system would offer a dual channel memory support whereas an i7 system offers tri channel memory support.

For LGA 775 get Q8200 + P31 .. if you are not into overlocking . Check market Rockfella is selling an awesome stepping of Q6600 for a good price .

You can get both for a bit less than 14k . For i7 you ll be spending 30k on Mobo + CPU ... If you can spend that much then go for i7 .

I suggested a core i7 setup as per you post. I thought you were ready for 70k.
:p

but its also a huge 15-20k jump :(

Well you did say you have a 70k budget or so right, don't hold back. :D
The i7 build posted above is good. For the cabinet, i'd suggest the NZXT tempest, at 6k its a great deal.

Basically, if you're not getting a core i7, don't spend more than 40k or so on LGA 775, if you're gonna spend more than 50-60k on an ageing platform, you might as well go with the core i7...

EDIT:
arpan and lethal, try to use the edit function and not double post.
