I am on tour right now and my ipod is out of battery :@ I can't charge it forgot to bring my netbook with me :@

Now I was thinking of changing my PMP .. I have an ipod shuffle 1gb its hardly 1 year old...
How much should I get if I plan to sell it ? Also which other PMP should I buy ?

I am buying PMP only for music purpose , will be using it in GYM and while jogging :P So something that is light and small should do. Should be under 3k don't have too much budget for it... Have to save for PSP :P

Another problem is that my Apple headphone are kaput .. The left earpiece didn't give any output .. I was thinking of getting a Creative EP 830 but read some EP kaput case in TE :ashamed: I will be spending nearly 1k on headphones.. So if any better alternatives are there then please let me know :)

Regards

Not sure about the PMP market right now. I got a sansa6gb refurb from KMD for 3k and bought EP-630 locally for 700.

EP830 have not much improved audio. If you r audiophile kind of and can expand to 1.5k then get a CX500.

Just a heads up PSP 2 is all set can be released later this or next year.

Chk IC in Hot Deals and Discussions section if u dont mind getting KMD stuff...

PM KMD for Sansa Connect...May be he has some pieces left...

Sansa Clip is the best and cheapest option for PMP primarily for music. You can club it with a Sennheiser CX 400 / 500 for really good value :)

Sanasa Clip ~2.5 K

C400 / 500 ~ 1.5 - 2 K via KMD

You could also use the EP-630 / 830, but I have kind of grown over them. You could also try out some of the Philips in-ear earphones. I think superczar got one off e-bay for 450 bucks (with the 300 discount coupon off course). They are better than creative headphones IMO.

Cheers !

bought sansa clip 2gb for 1700 from ebay, offcourse 20% cooupon.. :) , should be 1.5 times thicker, 1.2 times in lenght and width then shuffle, but you get dispaly + superb SQ + 13 hours battery life..

The higher end Sansa players are not that good (video wise), as compared to other competitors. If you want a video playing PMP, then you should look at other options at others mentioned above. Your budget indication could also help.

Here is something which will give you an idea:

Top 5 MP3 Players of 2008

Many people here might swear by their Cowon iAudio players about video quality etc.

Darkstar, I would suggest you to get sony refurbished 8gb one from KMD.Its about 4500/-aprox, and you get very good quality earphones with that.

People might consider different things while buying PMPs but I insists on the battery backup. Say if a battery lasts for 500 cycles,If you take player with 10hrs backup(Sansa clip or ipod Shuffle) you will get max5000Hrs for it before it dies.
where,if you get sony or cowon minimum of 15000hrs.3 times more longer. You will have better sound, better features and lot more.

Todays PMPS are almost credit card sized, so don't bother about the size and weight.

Fianlly I suggest you to go for the Refurb sony 8gb one that Sumchamp is organizing in GO. Make it fast as KMD might order the pieces today.

if you want good video + sound quality then get ready to pay more (around 10K). Video playing pmp's are not cheap.

I got a cowon D2 for 10K from alfa, good small video playing pmp. bundled earphones are loud (and a little hollow - like hearing in a large hall). pair them with some good earphones and they sound extremely good.

The sony walkman looks good. Since the headphone bundled is good I won't be spending in it .. :)

How much should i get for Apple Shuffle 1gig ?

Darkstar, you might get about 1k to 1.5K for the shuffle...

As sansa clip and creative zen 1gb are about 1.9k new ones....
