Im planning to buy a flash based mp3 player from the US. Budget under $150. Im looking at the iaudio u3 2gb player, and it seems to be good enough. Can i got for it, or am i missing out on any other good player? Small form factor and good battery life are a must (at least 15 hours)

any help appreciated cause i've to order in a day's time...
thanks

You should go for the 4gb Sandisk Sansa. Going for a wee bit more than 150$ on most online stores. If you can't afford to spend that wee bit extra get the 2Gb version. Has limited support for video playback as well.

# Sleek, thin design with large 1.8” TFT color screen for easy viewing

# Strong alloy metal casing provides excellent durability and scratch resistance

# Simple to use, backlit controls for fast device interface navigation

# User replaceable and rechargeable Lithium Ion battery for up to 20 hours of battery life (Based on continuous playback at 128 kbps MP3; rechargeable batteries may eventually need to be replaced as they have limited charge cycles (which vary with use and settings)

# Features microSDâ„¢ expansion slot for additional memory capacity

# Supports SanDisk TrustedFlash and Gruvi content cards

# Digital FM tuner*, on-the-fly FM recording*, and voice recording

^^ Else a 2/4 Gig Nano if you want style.

The players mentioned above are excellent too, but better save up atleast $30 on decent earbuds ;)

thanks guys.

@bladerunner, ill have a look at that too.

@ anish, i already have a 2 gig nano. need a player with better battery life and FM. and yup, you are right about the earphones. im also thinking about the iaudio u2 1 gig + creative ep-630 canal phones..

Not sure about the SanDisk Sansa e260 Black 4GB MP3 Player, but I have the
Sansa c140 MP3 Player 1GB and the audio quality is not that great, I have heard better sound in local mp3 players. The overall build quality/interface is excellent, however its the audio that matters most.

Btw since you are planning to spend around 6.5k, there was a Creative Zen Neon 6gb available for 8k in one of the shops besides Cassette World @ Lamington.
About sound quality well for entry level flash based mp3 players it's not upto the mark for most players. However if you pair with a decent set of earphones the experience improves a lot.

^^I don't thing creative zen neon 6 GB is a flash based mp3 player.

If yuo want the best audio quality then go for iaudio u3. Also check out iriver clix. Now that the 4gb version is being released you may get the 2gb model for under 160$$.If not stick with the iaudio u3.

If you want more storage for less cost then check out SanDisk Sansa e260.However sandisk players don't have the best audio quality and u3 has better audio quality.

Only downside with iaudio u3 is that it has crappy fm radio and its screen size is really small to enjoy videos. But it has great audio quality and has support for a variety of formats. Besides the jet audio software that comes with it is IMO the best software you could possibly get.

Sony ones are decent but they are slightly expensive and their software absolutely sucks!!

get the 5gb Creative Neeon...it will be in that range.. creative neeon series are flash based and they are sleek as well
