Well, this issue has solved smoothly. Looks like it was due to lack of communication.

This thread should not harm the reputation of #navs27 in the forum as he had no bad intention

Hello Guys,

This thread is for the help against the issue while dealing with member navs27

The other guy is navs27, actual name Naveen N Shetty, user id - http://www.techencla...r/22724-navs27/

The story in short is --
  • I purchased a Corsair XMS2 2GB DDR2 ram stick from navs27 . Deal went smooth and everything overed in fine manner. The stick was a part of 2x2GB twin stick
  • I got a PM from him on 11 March 2011 saying he sold other stick to some guy and it was DOA. for rma Corsair guys are asking both the stick so it will kind if I can send him the ram and he will send it back after RMA
  • I agreed to do so when I get free. The thing went pending for couple of months
  • On (around) 29 Nov 2011 I finally sent the ram. To my luck I didnt asked to deposit any amount to me keeping a trust on him
  • On 2 Dec 2011 he confirmed that he got the ram. On 16 Dec he reported that he had send the rams for RMA on 13 Dec
  • On Dec 27 he said that he got the sticks back from RMA and asked what to do next. First I said sent back mine, then asked for how much he can sell the stick for
  • We finalized for Rs 900 and made a transfer. He confirmed that he got the money on Dec 29. Said that he will ship the ram soon

And then he is not responding. Last he replied was on 5th Jan saying that he will ship the RAM soon. But till now, neither the rams are shipped nor he replied back via PM or mails (I shot mail in 2 of his ids)

What info I have about him

Well, I have two of his Email ids. His home address to which ram were shipped (if it is correct) and his bank details

To the bad luck, there is no mobile number with me

Not sure what to do now
<
Can anyone help me suggesting option that could be opted for solving the problem

Does anyone know him personally or have contact no?? Also his address states MIRA ROAD(E),THANE-401107, so it would be kind if someone is near to him and can persoanlly go and remind him about shipping the Ram

Regards

You have his address, just drop him a PM or Email regarding the RAM or he will file a complaint against him.. Finding him is easier as you have the address.

He was last active o 16th Jan.

@OP, if the email does work out, then you can actually file a case

Got two of the mobile numbers of Navs27 from two different members. Will call him tomorrow.

Thanx to the guys who gave no.

Well, out of two numbers I got, One is switched off/unavailable since last 3 days. The other one is told as wrong no. from the guy who picks up

Now, planning to send him a letter on the address I have..

BTW, how a case could be filed??

You could ask any TE members living near Mira Road too. Best is to post the complete address. From members map, only #imkaush stays nearby.

SOS #Neo-N, he can help you with legal help

Sorry... I am a bit confused. You purchased one RAM stick for xyz amount. Then, you sent it back for RMA. While sending it back, you didn't ask for any security.

Then, the new RAM was received by navs27. And you paid him Rs. 900/- again and asked him to ship the RAM to you.

If you had already purchased the RAM once and if it was just sent for the purpose of RMA, then why did you pay him again for the RMAed stick.
<

In any case, now what is the exact amount involved? As I see it, it must be Rs. 900/- + xyz amount that you paid during the first transaction.

IMHO, filing a case is not the ideal solution. It is not feasible nor practical in the present situation for 2 reasons: 1) Your transaction is weird! 2) The amount is tiny.

The best option would be to seek local help from fellow TE members and pressurize this guy.

#Neo-N

I brought one ram stick out of two ealier (for Rs 1650)

Later his other stick (2nd one of twin kit) got kaput and RMA guys asked for both stick for replacement..

I sent him back the purchased one so he can get RMA done.. to my foolishness I didnt asked for security

Later when he got rams back, I made a offer of buying the 2nd stick also.. thus paid Rs 900 for the second stick which was not purchased earlier.

The exact amount invloved is Rs 2550..

^^ Ok... I get it now. Even then, 2.5k is too small an amount for the police to sit up and take notice of it. They'll advise you the same thing: try to settle this mutually.

The problem is that the time, manpower and paperwork required for settling your case would be worth many times the loss sustained by you.

I completely understand that 2.5k is not a small amount from your point of view. But when it comes to raising a legal dispute, you have to look at the feasibility of the dispute before you initiate proceedings. Just coz you have a right to sue doesn't mean that you must excercise it even at a loss.

Hope you do understand what I am trying to say. And hope you get your RAM or money ASAP.

P.S.: If you have any contacts in the Police (higher levels), you can ask them to contact the Mira Road police station in-charge and instruct him to pay a visit to this guy's residence. All of this will be off the record and it'll bring about instant results. I feel ashamed to suggest this but then, in our nation, this is what works most of the times.

#imkaush Thanxx for the help dude.. PMed you the address

#Neo-N Thanxx for the explaining in detail. Well filing a case is the last option I would seek for. But, can consumer court help in anyway.. We learned back in school that counsumer court is much easier deal and decision is rapid.
<

BTW, had messaged him in Facebook also after a kind member shared in FB link via PM

I have had a good experience with this dude in the past (bought a couple of items from him and also met him personally). He didn't look like someone who would scam you for a not-so huge amount. Maybe he has a genuine problem due to which he is unable to ship those sticks. Just a thought.

Even I have (or had) a same thought... I understand that he might have some personal problems which is restricting him to ship it right now.

But he could atleast report me back that he will ship it soon after so and so thing is over (like exams). It is a matter of worry atlest for me when he had not responded since a month and around 2.5k is in choke

As Pat has said, he has met that guy and looked genuine to him, so most probably that guy (Naveen) must be busy somewhere.

I can accompany Imkaush to the address which you have provided to imkaush. Will probably act as a gentle reminder for him

PM me his address plz.
