tried a plug point that has grounding but no difference, also the scene is the pc also reboots while in the bios.

it just reboots at anytime basically. There is no chance of installing windows either. Now if the pc manages to load windows it works perfectly until it reboots so there is no issue of windows being corrupt or anything of that sort.

The only thing i have not done is tried running the pc with a different graphic card as i dont have a spare handy....nor does the modo have one on board.....

had to troubleshoot a similar rebooting problem for a friend's pc before... initially also thought it was the gfx card/drivers.. swapped in my spare gfx card, wiped the previous drivers clean from the hdd and installed fresh set of drivers... played CS on it for an hr before we left for a celebratory drink ;)

A reset at various times, most probably means a faulty power supply. The total power current provided is not enough at full load. I had a couple of recent powersafe's which were faulty, so its not unheard of. I think before major windows dissection, you should just try to change the powersupply and give it a shot.

huh? afaik, the pc shouldn't even boot up without a graphics card slotted in. as the system will immediately check for it during its power-on self test (POST).

Memories_dv sorted me out with a contct over the weekend......he came home we checked quite a few powersupplies.........we then went to the pc shops at the side of navrang that i dint know existed haha so its there for repairs......so im really thankful for that :)

the powersafe psu is faulty and the 12v connector on the mobo has a little burn marks

ill be going to pick it up today mostly lets see wat happens
@burnz thanks it dint boot it just kept restarting withouth the graphics card

@navidia beast cause it would go off and come on even withouth the graphic card in......off on off on withouth graphic card

Thankz to everyone who tried to help me out :D Greatly appreciated! Will post back when i get pc back :D

Hi man. You know I suffered from a similar problem with my ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe mobo. The computer rebooted every once in a while, made me chage the Power supply and graphics card... and guess what! the problem was the AGP port. It was defective since the beggining. I changed the motherboard after years of suffering and now my comp works just fine. Oh, and here is that crappy mobo...

Hmm. Yea that could extend the life of your board and your money... PCIs are now hard to find though... where I live that is...:P

the mobo is still f*$@ed up and now i am going mental i got stuck in a traffic jam took me 3 hours this morning from 7 bungalows to kemps corner :@

i just called those guys! one of the power related ic is fried so they sending the board to asus and getting it fixed. Freaking one week minimum to get it back so im getting really depressesd....core 2 duo lappy only one hp available for 96k its available on emi, anybody else know where i can get a core 2 duo for a better price with emi!

If I was you I would just sell this pc for 2-3k... or whatever you can get and make a new setup. There is no point fixing this issue as its a lost cause. Electronic items have a fixed life, and I believe your computer is near its end. I know you must be quite attached to it, but you just have to let go. Remain strong and you will overcome your grief of loosing your pc. All our wishes are with you.
