I am building a new gaming rig. I have already purchased E6750 and 8800GT. I need help in finalizing the following components:
Motherboard: Abit IP35 series vs Asus P5K series. There are a lot of versions in these series. I think I can do without all the bells and whistles the top end versions in these series offer as long as the lower models have similar OC features in the BIOS . Help me select one.
Monitor: Samsung 206BW, 2032BW vs Dell E207WFP, SP2008WFP. I'm leaning towards the Samsung ones since they are 2ms models and most likely will be priced lower than the Dells. Please advise.
Cabinet: Zebronics Bijli vs Cooler Master Elite 330. I don't want to spend too much on a cabinet so I am leaning towards the Zebronics one. Is the Cooler Master worth the extra money? How is it better feature-wise than the Zebronics one?
Power Supply: I hope the Cooler Master 600W Extreme Power PSU is sufficient. I'll be having just a single DVD drive and a single hard disk.

Please mention prices if possible.

Thanks in advance!

IP-35 Pro for 9.5k odd... Avoid asus in light of the bad reviews Rashi has been getting for the way they handle warranty issues.

Monitor, would suggest Dell thanks to 5 year warranty coverage.

If looks are not that important, do check out the Zebby Jamaica nd Rock as well as the Cheiftec Cabbys. these are server cases, nd thereby; HUGE, capable of taking all addons u might hvae planned for the future while providing ample space for any cooling solutions u might fancy.

ur psu should do just fine, though you could also try looking around for the Gigabyte 460 watt psu. Supposed to be an FSP oem piece. and FSP as a manufacturer is well respected.

1. Motherboard: IP35-PRO(Rs. 9500 courtesy Phoenix) but I myself own an ASUS P5K(Rs. 13450) n found nothin wrong except fer the high price.... :ashamed:

2. Monitor: Dell E207WFP; worth the buck rite now... 5 yrs warranty and its a "DELL"... :ohyeah:

3. Ur wish... Dependin on the cash u spent.. The more the better the features!!! If budget's an issue the Zebronics(Rs. 1550) mite do rather than CM E330(Rs. 2350).. It has good features..
4. PSU: CM 600(Rs 3600) wud suffice but considering tat u mite add extra components make sure u've extra connectors n sufficent amperage...

Cheers...

When asking for prices and rig suggestions its always better to mention where you live. As it will be helpful for people to suggest you the right product which is easily available near your place.

Mobo - Abit IP35 PRO - 9.5k and IP35-E (5.8k) seems to be popular. Both are known to be good OCers.

Monitor - I would go with Dell

Cabby - If you dont want to spend much, go with zebronics rather than CM E330. If you can spend 3k+ go for CM Centurion or better CM 690.

PSU - CM 600 should be good enough for your need.

Friends this is the config I have decided for my system. I will be very kind of you if you people can recommend me the price and the best option that I can get.
Core 2 Duo E6750
ASUS P5K / ASUS P5K Dlx Wi-Fi / Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R / Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R(suport for both DDR2 & DDR3 so more future proof)
Transcend DDR2 2GB 800 Mhz
Seagate SATA2 320 GB
Sony 20x (Sata DRU 170S) or Liteon
ViewSonic VA1912WB Monitor or any other as you people suggest
Logitech Keyboard + Mouse
Altec Lansing ATP3
Cooler Master CM 690 (does it come with its own PSU or do I have to purchase it seperately if to be purchased then preferably a CM or Powersafe)
XFX 8600GT 512MB DDR2 or any other in the same price range.

No offense to you Gannu_rox but I had posted it as a seperate thread & in threads similar to the one started here but no one seemed to reply. Thats y I prefer to post it in threads started by someone else so that atleast I get a reply from some one.

As far as Cooler Master 690 coming with its own PSU / not, when I visited the site there it was mentioned as PSU ATX (optional), :S so I thought maybe without PSU it may cost less and that is y I posted the question. I dont know 2much about cabbys, their makers as this is just my second comp in 5 years and I assemble my own and dont have any knowledge about the products. Its after I started visiting this forum and knowing from intelligent people like you that I have come to know a little more than what I used to know.:hap5: :hap5: :hap5: :hap5:

I'm from Mumbai and will be buying stuff from Lamington Road.
After seeing all the replies, I think I will go for the Abit IP35 Pro motherboard.
About the monitor, the Dell E207WFP has a 5ms reposnse time compared to 2ms in both the Samsungs. I've asked Dell for a quotation (no response yet). I don't know how they operate in India. If price and delivery time both favor Samsung, then I might go with a Samsung monitor.
About the cabinet, I was curious about what extra features I will be getting if I shell out more money. For example, is the motherboard tray removable in Cooler Master vs. fixed in Zebronics?

Dude... PM Ragunandan @ the Hot Deals section in TE... He can get u any Dell monitor @ flattering :P prices... Not frm the Dell retailer... Dell pwns Samsung IMO...

The mobo tray isnt removable... Those features're prominent only in the high-end cabinets like the Stacker... But the build quality, material, finish and the aesthetics mite appeal more in the CM cases...

Which of the 2 Dells is better - E207WFP or SP2008WFP? The SP2008WFP has a better response time but comes with Webcam and mic which I don't need. Also, HDCP is mentioned in the features for E207WFP but not in those for SP2008WFP. None of these are UltraSharp but SP2008WFP has TrueLife technology. Can anyone help me with this?

^ There is an Ultrasharp 2208WFP. Go to dell site and get the whole list. I think there is even a 19" Ultrasharp.

And Naresh, since you are in Mumbai there is a GO on Dell monitors and probably the Ultrasharp prices will be updated today. Check that out and get the monitor through the GO (see the market section). You will get a pretty good deal.

random2: I need a 20 inch LCD, not a 22 inch one.
I couldn't find any dealer in Mumbai having the Samsung 206BW monitor. I've even spoken to Samsung customer care and somebody at their regional sales office without any concrete response.
Anyway, this LCD issue is delaying my build. I think I'll use my current 17 inch Samsung CRT for the time being and get the LCD later.
Also, I couldn't find the Creative X-Fi Extreme sound card and the Cooler Master 600W Extreme Power PSU in Lamington Road. Prime gave me some other options:
Corsair 450W - Rs. 4300
Seventeam 500W - Rs. 3800
VIP 500 - Rs. 2800
Powerpoint 500 - Rs. 2800
I think the Seventeam is the best option of these.

ive bin usin vip 500 without any probs since last 6-7 months with 8800gts, 1 hdd..an da usual stuff...
it can surely handle 8800gt..

oops!! I dont have much info on the 20 inchers though. If going for a TN panel display, better get 22" or at least try to get MVA based 20".

Regarding sourcing parts, why dont you try the dealers on TE. Head over to 'Dealers Paradise' and contact those guys and see what they have to offer. AFAIK almost all of them are from Mumbai.
