Hi Guys ..

need to know if there is any phone available in india which can allow to make calls to a country say like Australia via the skype program ..??

psp 3000 is one option but then it wont come with a camera and its a wee bit fragile too.

Anybody with the inputs on this ..??

You could use Fringe on S60 phones or the iphone, also there's a skype app for wm phones iirc

As said above, Skype is available as a native application for PSP as well as Windows Mobile phones.

Skype has also been released for Java enabled phones.

If you're looking for a standalone cordless style Skype phone that doesn't need a PC (but connects directly to your broadband router), you're looking at atleast Rs.8000+ for models from Belkin, Linksys, etc. OTOH, something like the Netgear SPH200D will cost you around $130 in the US.

i would rather look for a phone or a phone like device which basically wd provide the skype facility mainly.

price is not an issue but shdnt be like fleecing me.

Asking this on behalf of my close family frnds who got relatives in Australia.

Do suggest specifically wether the option u suggest is available in india or wil have to be arranged from abroad.

Price quote and one url for the product wd be pretty handy here.

EDIT: A pic url will also do .. wd make it easier for me to zero in on the thing u r hinting at.

Thanks for the input guys :)

I don't have any URLs for Indian sources but I've seen the Belkin phones in Staples here and the Linksys one in S.P. Road. You might be able to get your local shop to source one. Pricing is as I mentioned earlier.

A specific phone pic that u have seen wd also do me a lot of good..

I found this URL .. Skype Wi-Fi Phones. Skype Internet Phone Shop Now in India. USB Phone, Wireless Phone, IP Phones.

Any phone u seen/used/heard abt from the list.. :

The Belkin I refereed to is in your list (the black one) and a link for the Netgear (it's a different model that the one you've shown) is here

I have the Netgear SPH200D and other than the fact that it's "base station" needs rebooting once in a while, the phone's good in general. Got it from Best Buy ~ 6 months back.

I think you need to specify whether you need a cell phone or a cordless phone for your home.

Sorry i dont kno mch abt the skype enabled phones

a simple cordless fone will do just fine..

but no harm in lookin at a cellfone too.
