I don't know anything about programming or scripting and was hoping somebody could help me. I have this DLink DSL 502T Router. The configuration page for the router has a button to reboot the router. Can anyone please explain how this is working and how a reboot could be performed without going through the configuration page @192.168.1.1...maybe a script or something, which I could then use with Windows scheduler for a scheduled reboot.

I'm attaching txt file for source of this reboot page. There is some things :S related to rebooting in the lower part of the txt file.
Somebody please help, many people are desperately looking for an automated router reboot solution for leeching on MTNL Night Unlimited package.

Mate no offense meant but the very little information I possess & have seen users complaining at discussion boards about their router getting disconnected & they frequently in need of manually resetting the router to regain internet connectivity, but your query baffles me.Dont get me wrong but may I ask why you want to restart the router after a scheduled period of time?

Anyways I dont know of anyway you could do it but I just glanced through DLink DSL 502T Router Manual situated here
it says after page number 4 to To manually reboot the router, toggle the power switch Off & On
And the restart button in the configuration page is to reboot after saving changes you have recently made & would like it saved.Check page number 29 in the manual link I gave above to know more on this.

He needs rebooting (don't knoww whether the s/w reboot is enuf), cos MTNL triband is free from 10pm to 8am, but for that u first have to end ur previous session by rebooting the router, otherwise it is charged as usual.

Ive configured a javascript for a alarm system .So now on,you'll load this page once a day,set the alarm for 'that day' ,and thats about it. when the alarm goes off,it wont even ask for confirmation (clicking OK for restart dialog) for restarting it.

disadvantage - can only configure for once a day.
solution - if u wanna get a complex multi alarm configuration ,check out the code ,and some1 to configure the multialarm clock for you.

rename ur old file to something like "OLDoriginalname" and rename this file as the originalname (reboot ,blah blah)

Thanks for teh effort bosky but its not working. After playing around, I found there are a set of files in the "Temporary Internet Files" directory in Local Settings with internet address as 192.168.1.1. These are htm, images and javascript files. The htm files work if opened directly from this directory (afer opting Yes for "Running a system command on this item might be unsafe"). If I copy these files to any other directory, they automatically get named to webcm[1] / [2] and so on....and don't work.
Any ideas :(
