I need help in buying/building a new PC. My budget and requirements are as follows:

Budget: 70-80k

Components that you have in mind for your new PC:
asus maximus VI gene
intel 4770k
120gb ssd
2tb hdd
8gb ram
gtx 650 2gb / amd r90270x
benq 24 "monitor with 2ms response time

Plans to upgrade in the future: yes

Intended use of the PC [gaming/office use/rendering/HD playback etc] : video editing , video rendering for 12-18hrs of work

Brand preferences: asus,intel,nivida

Monitor resolution and size: 24" 1080p with 2ms

Will you be overclocking your setup?: may be

Which OS will you use?
: window7/window Xp/window 8

Another 128-256GB SSD where the video in editing and related files will stay. Will boost the performance. Things like preview (forgot the exact word where you move the slider and can see the edited video while editing) will work superfast, for 10%increment in cost.

Another SSD as scratch disk for renders/previews will help a lot of you apply a lot of effects and need to render stuff for playback. Are you going to use Premiere or some other software?.

Cheaper graphics and use the money saved for two ssd and more ram(Get sandisk ultra plus, save money, better write speeds). Maybe the i7 that is overclock-able instead of the Xeon.

You could even try a hackintosh dual boot.

The 780 will help in playback if you have Premiere which uses the Mercury Playback engine. However, renders and encodes/exports use the CPU so instead of the E3 get the i7. 16 gb of RAM and the 2nd SSD will get you more performance than a 40K video card

Hi Sreeram180,

I would like to add a word to help in build of PC. Here are some options for you.

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor .

Motherboard:Intel DZ77GAL-70K ATX LGA1155 Motherboard

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory .

Storage: Sandisk Solid State Drive 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Secondary: Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive.

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 2GB Video Card.

I believe these components is best for video editing based on your budget. Also, this configuration allows for overclocking, as long as you have a stable power supply and a good case. In build, MOBO is support to 4 way SLI that means in future you can add on a second GPU card for performance, instead of buying a new MOBO or replacing a totally new GPU. I chose primary Storage as SSD and secondary as WD Black HDD because when doing video editing, you’ll be constantly saving and rendering directly from the HDD. The WD Black is a high performance drive that would give you best output. So I also recommend you just add a good casing for PC and if you can add some extra fans on it. It will help you for better performance.

Hope it helps.

PC is using edius video editing software
