Hi All,

I am looking for a PSU(Modular) which can support the following:

  • i5 2500K ( would be upgrading it to a better processor in an year - so same PSU should be able to support latest generation processors )
  • Asus P5Z68 Mobo ( would go an overhaul along with processor )
  • GT 1030 ( not much of a gamer now so would be sticking to it for a while )
  • 4 HDDs
  • 4 SSDs
  • 1 3.5 inch hdd hot swap bay
My current PSU ( Corsair VX 550 ) has started making whistling noises and needs to be replaced asap!!

Please suggest which one should I buy? ( Brand preference: Corsair / Cooler Master ~ not aware of new entrants like Antec etc. )

Thank You!

Cooler Master MWE 750 Bronze V2 PSU also very good choice. It's given very good performance in Indian Power Condition & Price is around 6.5k. Service is also very good.

550W should be enough provided it's decently efficient, he's hardly going to be upgrading to a 2080ti considering the current setup. 650W is the max needed imo

so finally which one should I buy , Corsair RM750 (10 years warranty) or Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 (5 Years warranty)?

and are these 3rd party seller websites safe? mdtech / tpstech / deltapage?

Ideally none of these as they are both overkill

RM750 , it has passive cooling fan stop function which is a plus for silent computing.
Also search for RM750x. If you can find, it's a notch better with Japanese capacitors though both RM and RMx offers similar warranty. Difference is more psychological than noticeable.
Your config looks like 6-8 years old or more, so if you are upgrading may be in 2-3 years it is a good idea to go for 750W or may be 850W if budget allows.

yes, all these sellers are OK MDcomputers and TPStech are good, deltapage is also legit as confirmed by some members from Chennai.

Not sure where the confusion is, the link I provided is an 850w Gold unit with 10years warranty, it's got a hybrid fan mode and its under your 10k budget.

My apologies, I meant to share the link for the CM v850 not MWE 850. The V850 is going for 11k.

What I would suggest is, check locally for the Antec HCG Gold 850. It's the same tier as the v850, same features (fully modular, hybrid fan stop mode, 10y warranty). I personally own that one, I got it for 9300 during the Amazon sale last month (currently it's 14500). See if a local dealer can get it for you under 10k, if Amazon could do 9200, a big local dealer might be able to give you similar.

Alternatively, since you are FAR from needing a 850w PSU, the Deepcool DQ850L-v2 is a great option, it was going for about 8k. It's fully modular and has 10years warranty too. Pretty well rated as well.
