2)XFX 8600GT 256MB DDR3

3)XFX 9500GT 512MB DDR2

4)XFX 9600GT 512MB DDR3

5)XFX 9800GT

and in ati ->

1)Sapphire HD 4670 512MB DDR3

2)Sapphire HD 4670 1GB DDR3

3)Sapphire HD 4770 512MB DDR3

:)

First of all you will have to change your psu.And at what resolution do you intend to play.

You can get a Sapphire HD4850 for ard 6k nowadays.Sufficient upto 1680 resolution.

Your system is a little outdated , even if you do install any of the mentioned GPU's its going to get bottle necked at the cpu.

@ zloyd
you are absolutely correct thats y wanted to know which one will suit the best or some other card that will give me performance :)

i have used a 9600gt with the above config except the mobo which is m2npv-vm . The performance was very good and there was no bottle neck.

So IMO 9600gt is a good go for you..

Whats the monitor resolution ? Do you intend to keep this card even if you upgrade your CPU+mobo in near future ?

Well with the budget you have you could very well go in for a Palit 9600GT 1GB DDR3 Sonic Edition which sell for Rs.5,650. The PSU you have should be good enough.

Just one advice, if you are buying an nvidia card then try and stay away from XFX otherwise be ready to deal with Rashi Peripheral's horrid service when your card breaks down.

The 4770 is the best card for that budget. It is based on the latest 40nm fab, generates way less heat and consumes far less power than the others. It’s got GDDR5 Memory and performs superbly.

Ati 4870 - 8.5k (VFM)

IF u can't afford .5k more then only go for ATI 4770 - 7.2k

+1 to this.
when u can get a 4870 for 8.5K paying 7.2K for 4770 seems dumb. BUT, the biggest problem is your PSU.

so keeping that in mind, 4770 should be fine.

Also maybe someone can comment if 4770 will be bottlenecked by his cpu?
