hello guys ,

Software: CoolBit.

My 6600gt stock fig are 500Mhz/2GHZ.

The scores in aqua mark is 56189.

I oced to 550mhz/2.10 ghz

The scores in aqua mark is 58333.

Temp 47

I want to know is there any other software to test my oced gfx card

6600GT at stock is normally 500/1000 not 2000 :P

your frequency is fine .. just watch the temps thou :) . use Rivatuner , record the temp. while playing some game for more than a minute or two . benchmark a game to know the difference between stock and your OCEd condition , 3DMark05/06, AquaMark 3, 3DMark01/03 too .

Its 500/1000 , not 500/2000 .. anyways ...

I had a 6600GT running at 585/1185 uber stable ... even with high temps of 90c .... make sure ur load temps stay under that ..

Man, 90 deg load is too high. Dont let the avg load temps go above 80 deg. An occational 90 deg during load might be ok, but if its continously above 85 then reduce the clocks a bit, otherwise you will risk damage to your card.

my ex-friend used to get 90 deg C very often as he had overclocked his card to 600/1100 for more than 2 weeeks .. his card busted in under eight months . what happened is not the point , but there is a 'limit' to everything lol . it also depends on your luck ;)

yeah guys i am also confused. when i told chaos he told its a bug and told me to change the driver. Now i am using 93.71.

Masky the temperature is 46. I will post the correct frequency soon.

6600GT runs at 46C? man thats cool!! my 6600 non-GT wud run at 65~70C. but then again, it had a crappy cooler on it :D

hey i have stock speed at 525 and 1050 BFG OC version.
i tried OC to 625core 1225mem!!
i have Iceberq 5 HSF installed and max i recorded was 82deg.(OC TEMP)
non OC max is 72deg
idles at 55
amazing performance.

i have a gainward ultra 1960 (6600gt) golden sample edition i am easily able to overclock it to 540/975 from stock 500/900 ..though it being a golden sample i havent tried anythin more..once i tried 550/1000 but that would lead to green coloured patches(what does this mean??) once in a while in between games like nfs CARBON....so i reverted back to the 540/975 ...

how come my 6600gt is stock 500/900 ?? and also how do i see the temperatures while palying the game using Rivatuner...can u help me with this ?setting up the temperatures using riva tuner while playing the games ?

hmm. Faheem, just keep the temp monitoring window open while u play games. i do it that way. or else u use statistic riva server.

You havent mentioned the brand of your card, maybe I can tell you the safe frequencies for a few of them. Let me know the brand.

i have monitored the temperatures on the card using riva tuner statisctics server. after seetting it up in the settings...and here are the results :

gainward Geforce 6600gt golden sample edition o\c to 540/975 from stock 500/900.

without load (on desktop)the teperatures are :

core -50

ambient- 43

on load (playing games like NFS carbon)-

when the game just starts it's around -

core-77-80

ambient -47-50

after around 20 mins of play-

core -85

ambient -53

aren't the temperatures too high ?will this make my 6600gt die early or just fry up the card...though the threshold is 127 .

please suggest something should i reduce the clocks a bit ..if yes which one's 3d core clock or the memory ?

My gainward Golden Sample goes from 510/900 to 600/1.3 GHZ stable, with temps like 48 idle and 72 load. Using driver version 77.77 (best OC and Stable performance yet for me). This is using Coolbits automatic OC.

lmao.. man.. u r asking for it!!!

Threshold as we all know is the limit. A Threshold of 145C means the card/GPU will sustain upto a max temp of 145. It DOES NOT mean the card runs at that temp. And having a higher threshold only translates to better build quality.
