Hi all,

I installed prince of persia:sands of time on my AMD 64 3200+ comp. When I try to play the same, I get the following message -

PackedAllocator::Malloc():Unable to find a suitable page for allocation size 3424972144.Returning NULL.
Filename:\builds\v181a\(sans safedisk)\Extern\Base\common\src\base\memory\packedallocator.cpp
LineNo: 121
Three Options are available - Abort, Retry and Ignore.
When i press Retry, the same error comes back.
When i press Ignore, I am asked whether I want to see this same error message another time if it occurs. I always press "yes" since I wanted to know if the next time, it is the same or something different.

I have POP:SOT installed on a diff partition than my WinXP partition. Also, I have 5 GB free on the POP partition and 7 GB free on the Win Partition. Using a 512 MB single ram module. I doubt if it is my RAM stick which is causing the problem and will be changing it. But thought I might ask around if anyone else has encountered the same problem and has a different solution.

Hope the gurus out here will help me out. :D

Thanks,

Sooraj.

thanks for the tip..i will try it.

i have used this disc before in my previous installation..had an amd athlon xp 2800+ then...and 1 GB RAM...the disc was working fine then..but the same was 5 months back...

also, after my last installation of Win XP, i can't install any new programs / games which are not too simple. i mean, winzip, spyware remover etc is fine, but NAV 2005 or NFS Carbon or Far Cry or any recent games give an error saying the source file is corrupt. Could it be the DVD drive itself or anything wrong with the installation of Win XP?

I tried reinstalling MS Installer 3.0, still not much help...Just thought you might want to know abt this too..

Will try get a new play disc definitely.

:)
