Hi. I'm currently pursuing my third year Bsc IT in Mumbai. I would like to work in an oil rig after my studies. So which course should i do after Bsc IT in order to get a job in a rig?

Hey dude,i don't know the exact answer but i see that it really bothers you.
I suggest you find someone in the real world who knows even a little bit about the area you're interested in working in.
I have a similar dilemma and I'm working towards my dreams and everyday i get a little more clarity about what i want and more importantly what i don't want for me and the people around me :)
All the very best dude.

I know a lot of guys who work in Oil Rigs. NONE of them are in IT.

Well, one is. He is the fire or safety something there. He did some course AFTER his Engg in IT. Another misguided soul.

Any particular reason you have zeroed to a job in oil rig
The main reason is that i am sick of programming now. So i want to get away from programming and coding. And why i chose oil rig; my uncle works at a rig in Yemen. In earlier days, they didnt need much qualifications, so he got in after 12th. He says the job is interesting and that the scope is growing day by day. That's why i wanted to enter a rig

I am not sure if it'd fit your case, but few of my friends, who did BSc. in Physics (with geology as pass-course) - went to Indian School of Mines (Dhanbaad) for PG.
They are the most well placed guys from our batch - all are in petroleum biggies like Shell, Schlumberger or in OIL/ONGC (those who chose to stay in native - Assam)
