my laptop is a dell xps m1330. its 2 and half years old. changed its gfx and mb(i think) after that common overheating 8400gs problem with in the warranty period.
problem started 8months back when during working it stopped after rebooting it worked. it repeated like this for several instances and 1 day on a blue screen its written theres a hardware problem and it never started again. i gave it to a technician who deals with laptop he said some battery problem or so and repaired for 2000rs after 1wk problem arised again and he changed some ic chip and the problem was not there for 3-4 months. it started yesterday again with many instances.

system switching off suddenly with out any warning. it might switch off soon after turning on or after an hour of working, no hint whatsoever(not the shutting down routine, its like power failure to desktop without ups).

the problem is always there with or w/o battery, ac power or not. after calling dell cc they told its something to do with memory or mb. i reseated memory and hd but it doesnt helps.now they r asking 18000rs breakfix warranty something like that. or for 13xx rs they will send a technician. talking in excess of 12k for mb replacement.
general warranty is for 8k per year but after assessing it with their technician(500rs) and if theres no problem with hardware only they will gave that.
pls help.

and ran the dell diagnostics too but it showed no problem as long as it can run the diagnostics without the system switching off..weird problem...

PM me the service tag, and lemme check, if its out of warranty u have no option but to buy the motherboard or extend the warranty, either ways u have to pay, thats the advantage of buying multiple years warranty at the point of purchase as it costs cheaper that time

problem resolved. i tried it by using only 1 memory stick. 1 gb stick seems faulty.luckily 2gb stick working
