Guide
I had installed a *AHEM copy of norton...

Today I tried to install Kaspersky Antivirus..... for that I tried to unistall Norton 2007

but the process hung mid way.... when I tried to do it again, it started giving a error...

I cannot install Kaspersky if I donot uninstall Norton.... How to remove the norton completely from the system.....

I mean are the any third party softwares or manual workaround...

PS: Tried to delete the Antivirus keys from Registry too... didn't work...I want to remove Norton completely, so that Kaspersky does not detect it...

Ctrl + Shift + Del

and confirm that all the processes from Antivirus side has been terminated.. Then try to uninstall it with Usual way.

In this situation, I would stop all processes of Norton then delete the directory where Norton is installed. Run a registry cleaner to take care of all invalid entries in registries. Remove start-up entries of Norton. This should do the job.

Solved my problem....

I well I finally went to norton site and dowloaded a software tht removes all norton installations... worked like a charm...

thanks for the help guys

Simple. Kill the running processes. Then delete the directory. Then use some registry entry cleaner to take its traces off the registry. Done this way for many programs who feel like making my comp thier home
