Hi there. I know for some this is a noob question. I want to know how can i create my own pdf docs (ebook) by scanning multiple articles from magazines. I have a HP Deskjet F4488 multifunction printer. Please tell me what software and the step by step procedure will be needed. Thanks.

You need to install pdf printer, they don't actually print but save a pdf file.

Scan you images as jpeg/tiff then in windows explorer select all & print. This will combine all the pages in 1 pdf but it wont be a ebook kind of thing.

With appropriate s/w you can directly scan into pdf files. But remember that these are not true e-books, in the sense it is an image in pdf format. Each page is a scanned image.

One needs to have OCR s/w to convert the image into text/characters. Even the best of OCR s/w in today's market are not 100% accurate and expensive. Besides a lot of manual labour needs to be put in to get a final shape out of OCR o/p

You can use Primo PDF for this purpose, one of the best and free.

1. First of all place all scanned docs in a word file and format as desired...

2. Install dopdf.

3. Print the word file using the dopdf printer and save to desired location.

4. done... :)

hope this helps you...

Have been using dopdf from last 3-4 years its best I suppose.

If u need to do some bookmarking/LINKing and all you should try Adobe Acrobat Professional X

^^that a good one. You can also install a pdf plugin available for office 2k7, then scan those pages to ms word>save as pdf> work done.

Support for pdf is integrated in office 2010.
