Need help with Uninstallation

HI,

Due to some seriuos virus issues, i have recently tried different antivirus and Firewalls and scanned my machine.
I have un installed them too....Currently i have Nod 32.

When i am trying to install Kaspersky anti virus, it is showing me that i have two other antivirus programs already available in my machine and asking to Uninstall, before proceeding further(no option to skip this step:( ).

The problem is that i have already uninstalled the other antivirus programs?Even the windows is showing that Comodo firewall is present and running in my machine, which i have removes long back....

Is there any tool to remove all the components of a program?
Any other way to install KIS?
My Os is Vista ultimate(32 Bit) IEM edition .

yes dear you can do that very simple...just go to add remove program..and look carefully..some time that type of virus ,creats the link for anti virus software add on..so every time when u remove this one..it will automaticaly installed again...and u said..u have two anti virus and NOD too...my frnd i want to tell you that.NOD is a bad anti virus..just remove it and instal..A VAST no need to crack it or somthing illlegel...just go to the main page of A VAST and download the demo...it will give you full access for 60 days ..so no need to worry ..and u have to instal SPY BOOT SEARCH AND DISTORY too..this one will clean your pc from every type of addware or spy ware u have in your pc...otherwise...formate your window once and reistall it..and then avast...simple.. c yaaa

This is the problem with Vista.....

If you have installed a version which was not compatible with Vista it will not uninstall cleanly...

It happened with me when I installed Mcafee first time.

Just check what is not uninstalled cleanly and go to respective antivirus website and try to find out clean up tools or methods..
 
First check the startup items and remove any unknown entry..
then start task manager, select show processes from all users..

the end all the processes that should not be running...

go to prog files folder and see which folders are there..see if u cna uninstall the prog or else delete that apps folder..

this should do the trick..

A clean install is highly recommended..
Also try CCleaner...and run everything..you cna check the startup through this..and also check the registry for errors..

+1 along wit it use tune up 08 and hijack this and remove the unwanted entries in safe mode...:)
 
Thanks a lot for the suggestions guys...
I have used the CCcleaner, Un installed AVG and Avira
and removed the registry key for AVG(Looked in KIS forums)....
In the process i have installed , re installed AVG for about 10 times, rebooted 20 times :-(

But finally things worked.. thanks a lot for the help...
 
Can some one help..
No matter what the antivirus is... i am not able to update...... :-(
tried KIS,Bit defender,Nod 32.

This generally Happens when you uninstall a software and they require a restart to clean uninstall.

After re-start they generally runs a post scripts to remove remaining zombie entry, But some time after restart those postscripts are not deleted and they trouble next installs.

So delete any Comodo related entries from following locations:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\

and

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

My friend has this problem while installing kaspersky. It reports incompatibilities with AVG and McAfee Internet Suite 2008. I managed to remove traces of AVG, but could not do so with McAfee.
Any suggestion for that?
 
@alsi- try a dedicated reg cleaner..

else delete all prog files,
delete all files of the av in user data, ie local roaming etc..
again reg scan..
should do the trick..

else try antivirus removal tools..
