Need help with WD Harddisk (Bad sectors)

Hi Folks, I have a 2TB harddisk moderately used purchased way back around 5-6 years ago.
All of sudden it stopped showing in file explorer and after few restarts it was again visible then next time again gone. This happened for few weeks, not its full gone from my explorer.

Solutions tried
  • bad cable, replaced the cable then tried formatting it always gets stuck in formatting never completes waited 4-5hrs.
  • Did all other solutions mentioned on blogs like chkdsk and diskpart clean. Nothing helped
  • Used Gsmartcontrol and EaseUS and WD website recommended Kitfox and did full scan it shows healthy and no bad sectors
  • Then found diskgenius and it showed bad sectors in harddisk.

Let me know if this harddisk is now dead, So I should not invest any more effort.
Or there is still a way to fix it with any software or hardware fix.

use linux livecd log into it , if its there are any critical data try top copy paste from there ,if issues than you try to fix it using linux ntfsfix method . if that also doesnt work than , i have a stupidly long article written ,you will require spare hardrive with 2 tb spare hdd or more and lots of patience to create a image of your drive

Thanks for this but I am not looking for any of the data, it filled with movies and games. I would like to know how to get it back to working

- see the task manager does it say its formatting/formated this this amount and keeps formatting itself?
(if thats the case then remove/disconnect it immediately and safely first)

short answer you/one cant fix bad sectors, but it should still work.... but dont save important data on it.

if data is not important than still you will hove to fix the disk .it will do a surface check . identify bad sector and update HDD partition table and mark the location as bad sector and it wont be used for storing data

It gets stuck if I try formatting manually, No auto formatting is happening.

I read we can block the allocation of bad sector and use only storage space for goodsectors
