Okey,

Finally i have the car in my hands and i am looking for a decent ICE setup for the car. Its gonna be mostly two people in the front. This is what i have thought of:

Decent low priced HU with AUX and USB capabilities(Preferred with a steering remote)

2/3Way Compos for the front + Damping

A 4 Channel AMP

A Sub which can sit on a parcel tray or a sub in a removable enclosure.

Everything needs to be under 20K. Will try to be strict with the budget. Also where can i find a good installer for the same in Delhi and it would be great if you guys can give me somewhat exact prices of the components.

TIA

Decent low priced HU with AUX and USB capabilities(Preferred with a steering remote) = 5.5+1k

2/3Way Compos for the front + Damping = 6+1.5k

A 4 Channel AMP = 6k

A Sub which can sit on a parcel tray or a sub in a removable enclosure.

4+.5/4+2k

Everything needs to be under 20K.

these are the typical rates you get in india. If you can get better deals from abroad, good luck, but I doubt it.

TBH Greeny. I have zero idea about ICE and the components. Since years i have been putting coaxials in my cars with a typical 2+2 setup. I just took a demo of some random compos with a sub to get the idea how good/bad does the whole setup sounds. And i was impressed. Now i before buying anything off the net i would like to take a demo myself just to get the feel of the system.

Also i did a little search and realized that i would need to extend my budget to 25k-30K for a decent setup of my liking. But one thing which is bothering me is that in the little boot of my Swift if i put a sub with a enclosure then there wont be space left in case i decide to take the car on a trip and if i remove the sub then there is no point in spending so much on the ICE if i cant enjoy it in case i take a vacation.

sub is not really needed. put in 6" comps in the front and 6" coax at the back of biosbhai's dzire, and it sounds quite good. If you dont need low bass at low volumes, then its not very urgent. heck, even an amp is not urgent if you dont listen to music at high vols. My suggestion - get a good HU ( alpine = my recommend, since its internal amp puts out a lot more juice than most HU's - I'm running , my speakers off my alpine HU, and only my sub has an amp.), some good components, a solid wood rear parcel tray ( at least .75 inch thick MDF) and some 6x9's :)

an added advantage of having an amp less system is , you can use it for a lot longer with the engine off - once you add an amp, you shouldnt run it for too long with the engine off

Umm, i think you should talk to the guy i told you about. the illusion compos are good, now its your choice if you want coax's at the back or sub. either way i'd suggest you get a amp.
