Hey guys, I am moving to Bangalore soon. My office is at Manyata Tech Park. I am thinking of renting an apartment near KR Puram since couple of my friends live in that area. How much time do you think it would take during office time to reach Manyata Tech Park from KR Puram by car and Volvo bus ?

Apart from office, the other places I will be visiting frequently are BTM layout and Yeshwantpur. Haw far are those area from KR Puram ?

Thanks,
Sabby :)

Bangalore traffic sucks :@ :@. The entire ring road is dug up for some or the other purpose. I stopped travelling to KR puram for good. Since ur office is Manyata Tech park try searching a house in Banswadi which is ideal.

KR Puram to Yeshwantpur half day gone in travelling.

Thanks for the heads up buddy... But finding a house in Bangalore itself seems a difficult & hectic job these days :(

Any pointers/help from fellow members would be much appreciated :)

True, whatever Metalspree said. In peak hours its a headache to roam free in b'lore.

Even my office is in manyata.

It will take around 20 mins by volvo( in non peak time) to Manyata from KR Puram Railway Stn/Tin Factory stop.

Peak times , you can double the time. :)

manyata is around 10 kms from KR Puram Rly stn stop.

BTW, which company you working for ?:P ( if you don't mind :D)

House near Rammurthy nagar area ( near to KR Puram) is cheap. Couple of my colleagues stay there.

One more point i missed out in the last post,BTM would be aound 20kms from KR Puram, although there are direct volvos to BTM :D

@Metalspree Thanks buddy. Pmed raghu :)

@ramanujpatro Thanks for the info. Actually, 40 mins doesn't sound that bad if it is the max limit. :)

AFAIK it would take at-least 15 mins to reach manyata tech-park gate from nagawara signal. I have been commuting to whitefield from malleshwaram for past 5 years . My travel time has increased exponentially.

tips -> try to travel during off peak hours , avoid auto rickshaws as they are daylight robbery. Volvo's are jam packed during peak hours. You will need to walk a bit from volvo stop to ur office depending on which part of campus it is located. Cars should always be your last option as it would take living hell out you to cover some stretches.

For last couple of months there has been a change in attitude of the Traffic Inspector at nagawara signal. I don't understand why they want disrupt the flow of vehicles entering MEBP.

They have closed the shortest route to MEBP. So, people travelling by cabs/personal vehicle have to face a bit of trouble while entering MEBP.

Not a problem ,if travelling by Volvo or other public transport vehicle.

Just to give you an idea, it took me 2 hours to reach K.R Puram from BTM 2nd stage, couple of days back.
The entire outer ring road is a PITA to drive/ride on and the Junction from Agara to Silkboard during peak times in the evening will leave you feeling as though you wanna run over everyone on the road.

You can also try RT Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, RMV 2nd stage. There are a few colleges there so large number of rental pigeon holes. You may get some good PGs also.

However, direct bus connectivity will be an issue. Consider these areas only if you intend to commute via bike.

Regards,

Mohit

Why not find a suitable pad at HBR layout or Kamanahalli, Even closer, and 1 single road, your reach to Manyata, i Live in HBR Layout as well , but Sadly my office is in Domlur :(

@mav,mohit,ryan Thanks for the suggestions guys.

As of now, I am looking for two areas. Either near Sanjay Nagar/RT Nagar/Ganga Nagar which are a bit costlier or HBR layout, Kalyan Nagar, Banaswadi etc. There's not much of listing in sulekha/99acres/magicbricks for those areas. I'm going to b'lore this weekend. Let's see what happens :)

EDIT: One of my friend told me that Hebbal is more of an Industrial area than residential. Is that correct ? Also, how is the area near Nagawara crossing ? That will be within walking distance of my office :)

If HBR layout, Prefer a House near 1) HBR BDA COMPLEX 2) Ammar's bakery / Paani Kam Chai 3)Jalvayuvihaar as these have good amount of facilities and Amenities

If RT Nagar Say 1)Near Pushpanjali 2) Sultanpalya 3)Sanjaynagar Extn (Indian Oil Petrol Bunk) They will be closer to Manyata rest of the places in RT Nagar are Traffic cladded and will add to your Travel time

Hebbal is an Industrial area as well as a Connectivity hub to Trucks and buses which connect to Hyderabad/Tumkur/Maharashtra and finding a pad on the main road will be difficult as they are commercial pads mostly and interiors are too deep within and are close to Slums if you go towards the Hebbal extension areas like Thanisandra and stuff

If you dont mind staying a little away from the city side, you could Sahakar Nagar too. It's quite developed now thanks to the International Airport.

^^ How far is that from Manyata Tech park and how's the availability of buses ?

Guys, how far will be ramamurthy nagar ?
