^^ Yup... You are not allowed to import it. But at present you can carry it with you and keep it if it passes the dead wood test.

btw my dad has a license & also a revolver [which I have never saw, yet.]

^^ Bloody hell!

Dude you are plain lucky. You know, you are allowed to inherit firearms under Indian laws. So, it is really easy for you to get a license when your father decides to give you his property. Now just pray that he doesn't sell off the revolver before bequeathing his property to you!
<

Getting a .22 should be pretty simple and cheap. Check out http://www.indiansforguns.com/

^^ I already have .22s. And I know that it is simple (though not pretty simple
<
) to get .22s in India. The problem is that the Delhi High Court had recently classified .22s as firearms and brought them under the purview of the Arms Act and it was the honorable Supreme Court that took a stand and stayed the HC order.

The matter is subjudice but I am expecting them to put restrictions on that as well! Lamers!

Yay !! man, you made my day... I wasn't aware of this... Thanks a lot

Do not get a firearm. It can just as easily be snatched and used upon you. And if you use it in defense, the litigation which the hurt person can do, is immense. Quite pointless, and dangerous.

^^ Hmmm... What is easier? Snatching a gun from a persons hand and using it on him (for the supposed victim) or pulling the trigger (for the supposed killer)?
<

If you think that "It can just as easily be snatched and used upon you", I have reason to believe that you are Jason Bourne or Ethan Hunt in disguise! Lol
<

In any case, we are not talking about self defense. It is about shooting as a sport. And I am aware of the litigation that can and will arise out of gun usage, especially in India.

No.. The person attacking will be a hardened criminal. Much easier for them to snatch, and fire back. It is not easy to pull a trigger on someone. Have you in real life actually held a firearm. It gives a "weird" feeling when you do so. I was not talking about litigation in India. That is a joke. Abroad you can get jacked, even if in self defense.

^^ It doesn't feel weird... I dunno what you mean by weird! I look at it as a sport and maybe that is why I find nothing weird about it.

If you are talking about killing a person well, that might feel weird but I cannot say for sure as have never tried it!
<

And even then, if anyone means us or our dear ones harm, I don't think we would find it weird to pull the trigger, isn't it?
<

Ohh and BTW, the situation for use of firearms in self defense is much better abroad than in India IMHO. In India, only politicians and VVIPs have the Right of Self Defense!

Get a gun from US chor bazaar at no extra cost

For bullets, travel to mexico, there bullets are sold same like how dairymilk is sold in india.
indifferent14.gif
Localized business you know. And you may even bump into an offer stating buy 100 bullets and get mexicano mouth watering triple cheese pizza free for a month.

Whats more, after killing 2-3 people return again and exchange/upgrade your weaponry with the small town mafias, keep building contacts and they may help you out in any situation.

This sounds like an fps game story isnt it? But its true.

Mexico is the heart of drugs, cocaine, heroine and what not. 95% mafias in US are of mexican origin. Cops dont have hardcore control on this region as they are themselves forced to play bad games.

^^^ Hahahaha!!! Dude, It's only for sporting that I want firearms! Damn, you are making me a criminal though I secretly liked the Pizza offer! Lol
