Need inputs On Philips DVP3166

Hi guys
planning top buy the Philips DVP3166 dvd player need input

doest it have any problems in playing divx/ avi files

will it play files from my portable hard disk

It should play from an external hard disk if it has a FAT partition. And it generally plays divx/xvid files well, I have noticed some movies with unusual audio codecs tend to skip a little but for the majority there is no problem.
 
I have seen this one in action,,,and ive also seen other cheaper ones in action...they also do well so check out old threads for passion dvd player..

And many people report that laptop hdds with casing dont work,Those with separate power cable work well... so i suggest you try it before buying,
