Need Laptop around 30k ??

i used techenclave last year for buying my desktop home PC,:D this time i need laptop for my further education.

is their any other website where i can search notebook pc round 30k's. :huh:
and i need help of yours too.. brand-wise & price-wise!!!!

I suggest the Acer 5740. Similar to the Inspiron 15R and is available for about Rs. 30K.

I think you are better off buying it in India. I don't want to go into full details here but may I just mention total cost of ownership.
 
UK pricez are not cheap and they are equivalent to Indian prices due to very high VAT prices. Try getting it from US else stick to getting it frm India.

@Emil-> AFAIK the Acer model 5740 with ATI HD5470 and Intel i-3 proccy is ~37k. But its cheaper with the AMD proccy though. But the model number is different.(Acer 5542 IINM)
 
The Acer AS5740 with the i3 processor is available for 30K. In fact, atleast 3 friends have purchased it for prices between 29K-29.8K

The 5740G has the graphics card extra and costs more.

place the order on dell website and speak to the person when they call you.

bargain and you could get the price down a bit.

If you find a good dealer you can get around 10-12% discount...

The sony gives the same resolution 1366x768 with a lot smaller screen size and much more battery life. Only downside is the DVD drive.
The best part is comes with a Wireless WAN (HSDPA/HSUPA, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS) where you can insert your 2G/3G card and stay always connected to the internet....

and i think i don't get vivo in that budget..? if yes plz suggest..

I would not say that the sony is low in configuration....

Hard Drive are the same, screen resolutions are the same...
I would not say anything about the graphics cards...
And for dual channel RAM systems both the rams should be equal otherwise the performance suffers...
I have already mentioned DVD drive which you have to take external...
Whatever left is the processor... and the battery life & size...

Now depending on your requirements you should choose one... But I would say that the Vaio one is true laptop as you will not have to worry about the adaptor cable for charging...

Furthermore the Wireless WAN, cost Rs 3K if bought seperately...

As per the budget the MRP is Rs 35K... anyone will give you 6% discount making the laptop cost around 32.9 K. And if you bargain harder, you can get 10-12% discount making the price tag 30.8 K. Which is very close to your original budget...

And above all "Its a SONY" :)

i m a SE fan and so as a Sony fan, :)

but currently in 35k vivo config is too low for my requirement, if anything near to that i have surly bought the Sony any day..

can u help me in buying, such as any shops giving discount as u saying. cause online buying don't have such discount as i have seen.
 
One advise from me= Check out both the laptops in some shop before buying online or somewhere else as vaio EB21/BI is a business laptop version of EB series and has matte finish which doesnt look as cool as EB26 or EB24.
 
Nice configuration, but :

1. ATI HD 5470 supports 11X ??
2. Any current user may tell hows the sound quality and the HD WLED screen is good for 720p HD movies ??
3. What would you buy : This Dell Config or Acer 5740 G ?? Kindly justify your opinion.
4 Can one get this laptop without just the Win 7 OS (I would be happy getting DOS and waiving off 1.5 or 2K :D )

P.S : I m not hijacking the thread, just clearing some doubts as i m also planning for the same laptop and opening another thread is just useless. I hope @wayne_rooney do not have any issues.
