I was planning on learning/getting some hands on with Oracle apps @ home.
Need a pc config which can run a small serverand a development environment with breaking into too much sweat...the PC is totally for learning purpose only...

need your suggestion on CPU + mobo + RAM...
mobo without onboard graphics .... i have a 7900 GTX.

Oracle DB server owns 75% of your RAM....so you decide :p

Now to the point: A 4xxx CPU should be good enough, but I'd say you go for 8400. RAM 2 GB Corsair value 667 is decent. More the merrier :). Funky is selling 4 gigs of patriots, you could lay your hands on those. Not sure about boards, any normal board will do i think.

PC config i have in Mind...

E8200 + 4GB Transcend 800MHz +ABit IP35-E......

a CoolMaster /POV 500W PSU will suffice the above config along with a 7900 GTX + 320 GB HDD i suppose...

Let me know if i can cut down on any of these components or need to pump up some of them....

install around 4 gigs of ram, should be great for running oracle. Apparently even 2 gig isnt that great, it bogs down the PC a bit.
