25-30k Need phone for my Dad

TigerKing

Explorer
He has tried many phones over the years:
Nokia keypad phones, Chinese phones, Moto E, OnePlus X, Lenovo K6 Power, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Note 7 Pro, Poco X2, and Poco F5.

Now, I’m suggesting Samsung mobiles—specifically focusing on the latest M36.

He has hearing problems, so he needs a phone with a loud and clear speaker, as well as high earpiece quality.
A bright display is also important, as most of his work like farming and other tasks are done outdoors in sunlight.

So, the top priorities are:
  • Loud and clear speaker
  • Good earpiece quality
  • Bright display
Additional preferences:
  • Long battery life
  • A smooth UI with no lags or bugs (all OS features should work reliably, close to 100%)—One UI may be a good choice.
  • Nice camera for scanning documents.
Performance-wise, it should be on par with the Poco F5, which was chosen for its value at ₹18K and its potential to last 5–7+ years

Budget -
What is your budget? Mention Locality/Currency & Price Range.
- INR 10k-30k.
New or Used? Online or in-store?
- New. Online.

Brand -
Do you have any brand preference or dislikes? Please name them.

- Anything. Avoiding MIUI
Not tried HyperOS 2 - if you are suggesting Poco F7. Not tried yet on POCO F5 (which is now given to relative)
iQOO - funtouch os (experienced that 15 OS on z9s pro and z9x of relatives) - good overall but expert can tell more about UI reliability ~100% or not with offered features
OnePlus - Oxygen OS (same as above)
Realme - Color OS (a big NO, tried it on realme 2 pro didn't liked it)
Vivo - never tried
Moto - tried Stock android only with G5s+, not tried (hello ui)
Overall I find OneUI good with all things working correctly. So it can be used for 5+ years

Usage -
What is your intended use?

- Casual - Calls, texts & Browsing (or) Camera focused (or) Gaming focused (or) All-rounder etc.
What is your expected battery backup?
- Mobile charging from 20% to 90% every morning
How long are you intending to use this phone?
- Should run fine for 5+ or 7+ years.

Connectivity -
What is your preferred network?
- Dual 5G++ VoNR etc.
What is the number of connections required?
- Dual SIM
eSIM nice-to-have.

Platform :
Operating System (OS) -
Do you have any OS preference?
- Android.

RAM & Storage -
How much RAM and Storage do you want?

- Minimum 8GB RAM & 256GB Storage
(or) Should be able to handle 10 apps in the background
Do you want a memory card slot?
no preference

Processing power -
If you have an idea of how much processing power you'd need mention here, else feel free to ignore.

- near to Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 if considering other than Samsung

Display :
What is your preferred display size, type, resolution and refresh rate?

- Any
Mention any specific requirements here.
- enough Brightness to check mobile near 45 degree temperature in May.

Miscellaneous :
Any other requirements?

- No preference.
If you have already considered a phone, then please mention.
- Samsung M36, A36 or any other A series
- iQOO z10x, z10, Neo 10R
- POCO F7
If any requirement takes a higher priority than other, mention here.
- Loud and clear speaker, Good earpiece quality, Brighter display, Long battery life, smooth UI > Performance > Nice camera
Some addition
If you have already considered a phone, then please mention.
- Samsung M36, A36 or any other A series
- iQOO z10x, z10, Neo 10R
- POCO F7
- Moto Edge 60
are there any other websites than GSMArena which test loudness of speaker? for iQOO brand?

RealMe P3, Moto Fusion Edge 60 Pro, Poco F7, iQoo z10. nothing 2 Pro is also an option under 20k.

I personally got dad a RealMe GT7 (UI 6 is much better now a days, to me felt like stock itself after removing some apps and disabling other. not much of work). seems to check all the boxes and but might cost you 35k for a 8gb ram and 256gb memory with discounts and all.

remember loud speakers won't last for ever.

Heard the M36 is a downgrade over the M35. I can't really confirm though. They reduced the battery capacity, iirc.
You are right.
So I will have to either buy last year's m35 if my dad want to stick to Samsung brand.

I myself prefer One UI over other android skins but budget Samsung phones are weak or have inefficient SoC or both. Anything below S24FE is not worth buying.

Color OS (oppo, OP or Realme) is good now, better than Vivo's Funtouch or Hyper OS for sure now.

IMO Realme P3 Turbo (8/256GB) should be a good choice. Your father doesn't need the best camera but the performance will help with longevity.

Moto Edge 60 Fusion is another bit cheaper option with UI closer to stock OS. Can also consider Edge 50 neo for something compact. Performance is surely inferior to P3 Turbo.

If you want to spend 30k, Poco F7 & Moto Edge 60 Pro are your options, will prefer latter because of better camera setup but based on info provided I doubt your father needs a better cam than what cheaper 20-23k phones offer.

You mean p3 ultra?

I was considering t4 and z10 but speaker isn't good. And little lower brightness.
But with moto I don't get back cover, screen protector which I can buy locally but as per many reviewers those leather back needs to be dark and back cover should be used asap.
And about monthly service days I don't know how many monthly visits my dad will do for a cup of tea and chips and iQOO/vivo servicing.

Mostly documents scanning will be done by those cameras. So anything will do.

I narrowed down list to..
Moto edge 60 fusion
iQOO z10x
Realme p3 or ultra/turbo

I meant realme P3 Ultra, my bad.

IMO Color OS has long had dual apps, can check some Oppo phone locally.

Against my advice, my relatives had bought vivo phones & used it for 3+ years w/o issues.

I agree curved screens aren't great, can opt Edge 50 neo in that case.

So finally dad decided to go with iQOO Neo 10R 12+256 variant
Is this overall good package or overpriced?
I have check geekyranjit review.
It looks nice overall.

Cost seems on the higher side. I prefer Color OS over Funtouch. Also D8350 gets very close to performance of 8s Gen 3. P3 Ultra has some other small improvements, like IP rating, slightly better cam sensor, Gorilla Glass. IQoo's main advantage is gaming performance. Check some more reviews & take the call.

Get whatever Samsung availabe in your buget, you & your father wont regret it.
As he is not going to play game, little bit slow over year won't hamper his work/uses, also he will get min. 4-5 NEW Android for coming 4-5 years and Security Updates may for for next 5-7 yrs.
