MAy I ask, Why do you need SSD in first place?

They have horrible write speeds and trust me silent block corruption in SSDs is far more than in conventional disks.

So the SSD are not good. No fun in investing in them Even if it is a SLC.

SSDs have amazing read speeds but you don't just read data but also write data to disks.

SSDs currently with their high tag price are not justified.

Second, if you can wait then wait some more time, let Intel improve its SSD write performance and then get one. Why waste your money in haste? :)

Depends on for what you are using the SSD drives. Dont think anyone will use is for torrent rig where read/write is used constantly.

SSDs are mostly used as OS drive. To load a OS there isnt much "write". So the high read speads absolutely gives phenominal load times of OS and Games. And more importantly the Access time is 0.1ms as compared to Raptors 8ms or 14-16ms of a normal 7200 rpm disks.

SSDs are the way to go except for the pricing which wil come down eventually.

Intel ones are probably the best out there. Infact the Seagate Pulsar is suppose to be really quick too(chk anandtech). M trying to get a few samples of the pulsar...

Also, you should know that SSDs have a certain age, so after some time they will die...

^^ This is the old G1 disk, without trim support. I wouldn't buy this for me.

the G2 models are way better and have trim too, but the 80 GB G2 has a write speed of 70 Mb only...

^Are you still in your kindergarten? No seriously, one cannot put it any simpler!

GANNU SIR its not about kindergarten:) you didn't get what i am trying to say, i understand the language but i am not getting what he is trying to say from this statement, and if not what is the problem in clearing the doubt:bleh: and if a person does'nt understand the mean for a statement he has full right to clear his point its not about kindergarten, no one on this earth known the meaning of everthing like what you say kindergarten being so reputed you are commenting on a post instead of helping the member
