Hi everyone,
I need budget PSU suggestions for my setup. The specs are underneath -

  1. Core i3 3225 3.30Ghz
  2. Gigabyte B75M - D3H mATX motherboard
  3. 8GB Ballistix DDR3 1600Mhz RAM
  4. Hard Disks (3 in total)
    1. 640 GB WD SATA
    2. 3TB SATA
    3. 1 TB SATA
  5. GPU - On-board Intel HD 4000
Would a Corsair VS450 suit my setup?

Also, is it cheaper to buy it from Flipkart or from Nehru Place?

Thanks in advance,
Sibot

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm in the US right now and am getting a Corsair CX430 for Rs.1,100/-. Do you think it'd suffice for my setup?

Also, this is a Hackintosh setup and there isn't any GPU on it, but if I plan to install one tomorrow then I'd probably need a better PSU right?

Yes.

It depends.
If you find that a little troublesome you should opt for AMD Llanos imo.

Can't argue for the price. But the CX 430/430 V2 does use cheap capacitors, so lifespan will be relatively short .

I'm guessing he already has the parts. Not sure what the current situation is, but AMD compatibility with Hackintosh was troublesome.

Also an APU's power consumption will in most cases be fairly close if not higher than an Intel CPU + equivalent discrete GPU. Both the Intel and the GPU will have the advantage of being manufactured at smaller process nodes, i.e. lower power consumption.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions guys.

I finally went for -

Seasonic 500BT - 500W for Rs.3,300/-
and bought a new cabinet for the hackintosh - Antec X1 for Rs.2,300/-

Should have tried picking up the Seasonic G series in the US. The G550/SSR-550RM is about 80$/5k. In comparison the prices here are ~8k. The ECO/500BT is not really the best offering from Seasonic, since they've taken the same cost cutting measure of putting in cheaper capacitors like Corsair's entry level models. Plus the price is about 3k even in India

Hmm, I was looking for the Corsair VX450, but I couldn't find it anywhere. In the end I settled with the Seasonic PSU. I have purchased the items for the aforementioned price from Nehru Place. Didn't end up getting the PSU from the US.
