well a friend of mine bought this & i was using it for a couple of weeks. i really liked the hdd. it looks better than the wd, its smaller & sleeker than the wd, & it has 2years more warranty than wd. seems like a better choice.
transfer speeds were as fast as they could have been on usb2.0 speeds.

dont know how good or bad it is in the long run.

Hi, I had taken the 500 Gb version of this. It was Strictly OK but the problem was when you wanted to connect from one PC to another. It would be very cumbersome, so I ended up buying the 2.5" FreeAgent Go 500 Gb also, which I find to be much more user friendly. Transfer rates were a bit higher on the FreeAgent desk, but overall I use the smaller one much much more, and the FreeAgent desk is now more like a weekend backup box for me.
Cons: Size and Power adaptor is mandatory.

Pro: For me, none, but for most users: 1 Tb size.

Well one word STAY AWAY!!! from it.
A friend of mine got 1TB Seagate FreeAgent :@ it after I suggested him to get a 1tb WD Home. The next day HDD got corrupt  and he was on for the Seagate RMA station. Seemed like it has a lot of problems. It looks good though with a fresher look ;) .
