Need some clarification on buying from Amazon USA

I want to buy a phone from Amazon USA. A friend is coming back from US in first week of August. What I want to do is, buy it using my HDFC debit/credit card - using Net Safe. While buying it, give his address as shipping address. Then he will bring it with him.

Now I have not bought anything from US before :noob: so my queries are -

1. Can I buy it using HDFC debit/credit card preferably through Net Safe option.
2. I believe what I am trying to do is similar to how ShopNShip etc works - so I am assuming that buying from India (billing address) and providing US shipping address won't be a problem with Amazon - correct me if I am wrong
3. Is there any type of tax (like we have octroi in some cities) that my friend may have to pay while receiving it? If yes, can you give me any estimates?
4. Anything else I need to consider?

dont worry,I have used my hdfc card to order stuff from amazon.

it wont be aproblem of indian card and us shipping address.

no tax to pay.

once you clear total amount.it includes tax when you add your address with pin code.

It gets charged right at time of check out.
