So I ordered some stuff from Lightinthebox and the package landed in Mumbai, arrived in Delhi and has been stuck there for sometime now with the following update,

The thing is, no one has tried to contact me about this. I've looked up the customer care number and e-mail for Speed Post Centre in Delhi and no one has answered calls nor replied to my e-mails.

In case anyone has any prior experience dealing with this, could you help me out? Guide me in contacting the right people?

They will send you a snail mail to which you need to reply. Might take some time.

A friend of mine got a letter asking for invoice and IEC if applicable. He had to reply to it with a copy of the invoice. He is waiting for the response.
Think this happens randomly. I got a package without any issues and with no duty payed for ~2.7k worth package (my friend's is ~4k)

So you were right, I just got this,

Now I am not an importer and don't have these documents! Don't they know its a personal shipment? What all should I take with me?

If you are personally going there, I guess you can either use an agent or personally meet the officials.

These are just my assumptions/guess that I think should work -
1. Invoice of your purchase - Take a printout
2. Bank/CC statement of the same period that shows the transaction - Basically showing your spending in INR
3. A letter that you have purchased the product for your personal consumption and it is not for resale or business use
4. A copy of any ID like Aadhar

These should work.
Will also check with my friend on what happened to his issue.

Thanks man! Please do let me know what your friend says. I am planning to go on Wednesday most likely so have some time to get things in order.

Just saw the image he had sent, the docs they have asked is much easier. Will post a copy of what he had sent me in a bit.

Have attached the mail he got. Just heard from him that he had sent the docs but have not heard back again from them.

Ahh, did he go to the GPO himself? I guess I will take a few documents with me to be safe. Thanks for all the help man!

So did you get the items cleared?
One thing I'd like to mention here is avoid shipping by EMS as it invariably attracts strict Customs inspection. China?HK/SG post registered airmail although slower are much much safer in this respect.

Yeah, I'd gone to the Foreign Post Office today for this. Got it cleared after an inspection and paying 2000 in duties on a package worth 6600. Like you said, they tried to cause trouble over the quad but I told them to open and see that its a toy.

Lightinthebox screwed up because they first sent my parcel through DHL which was returned due to insufficient paperwork. I asked them what happened and they said that customs asked for some documents which they don't send with packages which is why DHL couldn't clear it. Going to ask Lightinthebox for more details because if this is the case, ordering from China is going to a be royal pain from now on.
