Need Suggestion for a 13inch Laptop to replace my MSI X-340

I have had a 13inch MSI X-340 -core2solo SU 3500-2 GB- Win 7-which has a for past 1 year- this is a light 1-1/2kg laptop- which suits me fine to take every where i go-but the down side has been the poor batt. life- less than 2 Hrs with 4 cell batt.
I intend gifting this to a nephew and buy some thing better<2kg but about 5-6 hrs batt life and better specs.
Please suggest something at less than 30k or thereabouts- 13inch seems a fine compromise so would stick with this.
My use is surf and music and videos and MS word on the lappy.
 
thin and light and long lasting is a tough order

13" at less than 30k is nigh impossible. switch to a 12" netbook or cough up some more for a acer 3810T Timeline
 
or else wait for a few days for the new 11.6 inch Sony Vaio YB series which has a powerful AMD fusion processor and some really impressive specs. All for less than 27k
 
I guess this is the first time Sony has ever put an AMD cpu into one of their laptops. Although I wish they had made it with a 12" screen.
 
I would suggest the msi cr400x with intel dual core and 256mb nvidia 8200m with 2gb ram and 320gb hdd and 2 years warranty @ Rs.21,000 - its worth the extra Rs.3000.
