Don't go for MSI . They offer crappy RMA service

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965.

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P for 12k (two x16 PCIe slots and is full ATX board) for AMD

No offense bro , but when you are comparing two cpu's you should also consider power consumption

Core i5 750 consumes much less power in idle and full load than Phenom II 965

We can't actually predict by how much % core i5 is faster than Phenom II 965 , but you can see all the reviews posted above and few more by googling

Core i5 750 is the clearcut winner in comparison to Phenom II 965 in terms of gaming ( by a very small margin, mind it) and Power consumption ( Consumes 25% and 15.6% less power than Phenom II 965 in idle load and full load respectively )

dude. you gave the core i5 config and i gave the phenom II config. I do know that core i5 is better in terms of power consumption than Phenom II.

I left the choice to the OP.

btw, for core i5, my pick for mobo will be ASUS P7P55D-DLX (price is 16k though)

Not at all bro ,

No offense bro

OP asked by what % is i5 better than 965 ? To that query i replied by a very samll margin in gaming and a huge margin in power consumption.

Please don't take me wrong bro.

I tried to post wat the OP wanted to know

What will be the price/performance difference between the two ?
