i have rig build up recently and brought amd fx4170 processor with am3+ gigabyte mobo with on board graphics. i recently added a new graphics card ati 5770. now my system is acting quite odd while playing games like skyrim and crysis 2 on high settings my pc restarts. i have checked event logs and its says not enough power.

i think my 450 zebronics smsps is not living upto its expectations.
need to upgrade it upto 550~600 watts

The options that you have for your RIG are --
  1. Cooler Master GX450W ~3200/-
  2. Seasonic S12II 520W ~3700/-
*I have embedded the links to their respective reviews in the names itself.

Between the two these are the advantages and disadvantages of both --

  1. Cooler Master GX450W is good enough for your needs, has the capability to run graphics card upto the AMD HD 7850 and upto three hard-drives + optical drive. On the other hand the Seasonic unit packs a little extra fire-power -- can run cards upto the HD 7870 / GTX 670 and upto five hard-drive + optical drive.
  2. The Cooler Master after sales has a really strong presence pan-India, something Seasonic cannot claim and unfortunately I have heard discordant claims about the after sales.
  3. Overall I will give preference to the Seasonic unit, if you feel you will not upgrade too many components then even the Cooler Master SMPS will suffice and the added benefit of effective warranty cover is an added bonus to the deal.

Hope this helps and you get gaming soon enough, Cheerio!!
