You can start with a basic DSLR like the Canon 1100D or Nikon D3100 for about 30K. Try it out for a few months, see if you can get a hang of it. If yes, then later you can replace the DSLR body with something much better. If not, you can always sell it off and get a decent point and shoot camera.
For videos, you'll be better off with a standalone handycam. I'm not sure which specific model, but I think Panasonic and Sony make decent handycams. You can get one for around 25K.

Thanks for reply

i go for this cam body only or with lens kit or buy any particular lens lens

Both the Canon 1100d and the Nikon D3100 come with 18-55mm IS kit lens. Along with this you can buy a 50mm prime lens which will cost another 5k. This should be more than sufficient for starters. Once you get used to this, you can buy a good zoom lens, and maybe consider changing the body also.

He wont get a Nikon AFS 50mm for that much :P

I suggest, to get a hang of DSLR buy a second hand Canon 1000D with IS kit lens and 50mm prime for 19k (I saw many of them on sale in JJ Mehta). Once you are comfortable in your kind of photography, invest in good lenses (85mm f1.8 for portraits, 70-200 f2.8 for long shots, 11-16mm for UWA shots), and later on get a better body.

thanks for your reply
