After my sony ericssion w660i headphone got almost teared out ... looking for a mp3 player & a earphone to fulfill my music desire :P

Budget = 3.5k to 4k

1. Mp3 player with a decent screen ( should include radio, radio recorder & 2/4 gb memory. even 8 gb if it comes in my budget)

2. A good Earphone with good SQ & good bass

Mention da price of da products u suggest if possible, it ll help me a lot

Feel free to advice

Thx in advance:)

Get Sansa Clip+ 2GB for around 2-2.25k through KMD and pair it up with a decent IEM from soundmagic/head-direct/fischer audio.

The player comes with expandable memory through a uSD and has top notch reviews for its playback quality

If audio quality is of utmost importance, check this: NWZ-B143F : B Series : WALKMAN MP3 : Sony India

The earphone comes with dat walkman is good enough ? & da screen looks very small ... can i browse all da songs efficiently ?

sansa clip + looks nice after watching some youtube video :P

don't wanna buy stuffs online ..cuz i dont hv credit cards or required things to do it.

tell me if sansa clip + & those earphones u suggested is available in kolkata or not ?

soundmagic pl-30 seems cost around 1k ...wat abt da current prices of head-direct & fisher audio ?( read reviews from TE abt all those 3 earphones u suggested... seems head-direct RE 2 beats SOUNDMAGIC pl 30 & no reviews on fisher audio)

& one more thing... one of my friend suggested transcend tsonic(which has probably big screen) is it comparable with sansa clip + in matter of sound quality?

im going to buy it from Chadni, kolkata which seems to be da biggest electronics market here.

thx for ur reply guys :)

If you search all the shops in Chandni, you will definately be able to get it. First of all check in Vedant, Berlia, Supreme, Tirupati(not sure if Tirupati sell media players), Technocrat and then visit all other shops. Sometimes the smaller shops stock such media players. When my friend had bought a Transcend T.Sonic media player 2 years ago, he found it only at a small shop. He could not find it in the big shops. Check Fashion Computers too. They may be able to suggest you some shop where the player may be available.

If you cannot find the player anywhere, visit Great Eastern(the original shop) or Music World or Anandamela(Gariahat).
Anandamela is the official distributor of Sandisk products in Kolkata. It is just on Gariahat more, right under the middle point of the flyover.

After you have bought the player, update this thread with the price at which you bought it.

Earphones are much harder to get in Chandni. My friend had to search a lot before he could locate a shop which sold Creative EP630 earphones. He bought it from Music World, Park Street. Music World charge a lot more than what should be the actual price. They charged around Rs.500 more than the price at which it was availabe in other states.

The best place to get earphones is Lynx India, Chandigarh. Do a google search and you will get their website. They accept bank transfer and demand drafts too. The owner Amarbir is a member of this forum(he has the same username).

That will never be a problem. Deposit amt to KMDs acc( 160 rs might be charged extra by ICICI), when ever there is a go . He will ship to your home.

the earphones that come with Sony player are decent enough and the display should be just okay. Demo is available in many Sony World stores and you can take a look there. The next model is at 5k for 4Gb and it has stunning audio quality with sleek design and color LCD (1.5" i think)

You wont find the clip+ in India.

really ?? dats very bad :S

then can u tell me who is KMD & how can i contact him ?

& is Transcend tsonic can compare da quality of sansa clip + then i ll go for any ver of trascened tsonic series.

Philips Go Gear Vibe 4GB - 4kMRP. You should be able to get one in the market ~3.5k.
Never go for the transcend ones. They are one piece of c*@p and have pathetic build quality :@

If second hand is ok for you then I want to sell my creative Zen 8gb. The first gen version. you can check this link in the market section.

PS - Try not to use sms lingo while posting on TE.

i am pretty new to TE, so i am sorry if i break any rules by using sms language

i will keep that in mind for future :)

thanks for rectifying me.
thanks a lot for all those replies... its really a great experience on TE for the first time, about helping me in my queries with flurry of good suggestions :)

probably i will wait for Madnav for his reviews about SQ of transcend mp860 & then i ll decide to go for Sansa clip + or mp860 or may be Philips Go Gear Vibe 4GB (@Karthi007) & NWZ-B143F: B Series: WALKMAN MP3 (@desiibond)

at the moment Transcend mp860 is ticking on my mind as it can play videos & it has quite big screen on that price & even its available in Kolkata, it looks cool too ...just worrying about the sound quality compared to sansa clip +

now tell me which earphone should i go for? i have shortlisted some of them after reading some reviews on TE.

Soundmagic PL 30 or Head Direct RE 2

i hope they available in kolkata or i will go for creative ep 630 which is available here.

sansa clip will give you best value for money as well as best sound.even supplied earbuds are not bad.not for critical listening though.
