am upgrading and need your help...
(From P4 year old, so reusig the Cabinet, Monitor(1024X768)-- willupgrade a little later, IDE HDDs, DVD Combo n speaker n kb, mouse )

Am into Purchasing

Decided on these two below

MB (AbitIP35E),
SMPS (Corsair 450W)

Not Clear About
Proc (E2160, E8200),
Ram (Corsair667 or other Good yet 833 FSBs),
G / card (XFX 8600GT 512MB)

Dont Know
Cooling Fans Extra
Thermals.......
Please Help.........

E2160 in RADAR cause -- its cheap n overclocks great. feeling Adventorous . I was told E8400 is at 9K and will love to buy it when prices come down a little
Suggestion on the Ram
.Budget for RAm is only at 1200 per 1 GB
If processor is E8400 then ram should be 800MHz or will Corsair 667 do, and when 800MHz corsair comes down in prices i plan to buy it . For E2160 is Corsair 667 Good?
Graphics Card...
Budget is <6K
Is XFX 8600GT 512 okay?
Am Stuck at these Please Help me.....

Ur motherboard and SMPS decision's farly good.

The E2160 processor's good enuf if u can get hold of an aftermkt cooler and overclock it to decent clocks.

Get a TR Ultima or a TRU'E' and a 120mm fan n begin ur adventures straight!!

None of 'em wud prolly buy a 667 Mhz RAM these days since prices of RAMs're falling. Get 2GB RAM from Transcend JetRAM. U shud get a pair of 1GB fer <2k IMO.. ANd these're fairly good fer overclocking ur rig..

The 8600GT'd be eventually phased out since the 9600GT's out and retails fer close to 9.5k..

But still the 8600GT 256DDR3 shud be a good buy.. With a few tweaks, crysis shud be up n running @ High settings @ 1440X900..

PS: A humble suggestion. Wait till April month end and the E8400 shud witness a decent price drop. :)
 
hey since you are on a budget..you could get a 8800 GS from KMD (dealer in TE) from newegg for 7.5k.....which is much better than the 8600 gt....

i agree with gannu ....instead of going for corsair ram,go for transcend 800 Mhz ram.... or maybe Gskill.... if you get it from KMD ....you could again get good 800 mhz for 2.5k- 3k.....

Should i go for E6750??

The 8600GT 256MB DDR3 is even fine fer runnin games @ tat res.

E6750 is an outdated proccy, atleast to me.. :P
Although its a good one, the E8200 beats it..

Settle fer the E21XX series and overclock it.. Nothin beats the performance it offers fer the price wen its overclocked.

Dont get a Coolermaster fan, get a cheaper Glacialtech 120mm fan tat has a cfm of abt 80-85. Noisier but serves the purpose well.. Retails fer 350/-.

(Will limit my O/C ings ....to what extent in case of E2180/E2160)

(Since i tend to play/use pc at night, n if Fans too loud. others get disturbed.... Would it BE better for a silent one? )

Its an APC 650VA UPS. :)

The E2180 def is better than the E2160, but settle fer the E2160.

Get the Transcend JetRAM 2x1GB DDR2 800MHz sticks..
They wont limit the o'clocking of an E2160.

And the Glacialtech120mm fan is loud but ur ceiling fan will account more fer more noise than tat. So dont worry. :)

And concerning the GPU, get the 8600GT DDR3 (& not DDR2) from preferably from XFX..

One last Hurdle , I am using the Old P4 PSu, which is From Mercury....

Are there any problems in attaching the Corsair450W or other Components?

I will reuse IDE HArd disk for some more time its 7200RPM...seagate
 
And where will i get the TR ULtima E in SP Road? Hopefully its available.

Incase its not can i buy it later and then step to oc?

Nope.. It'll be a 20pin connector prolly.. U can connect it w/o any hurdle.. I guess the 4pin from the 24pin EATX pwr connector is removable, else it'll jus stick out of the connector.

Yes.. Dunno where the TRUE retails in SP Road.. Else u can source it from katmandude here..

GEFore 8600GT DDR3 256 Mb is better than the 8600GT DDR2 512MB

iheard XFX has Heating n other problms...

So should i go for other Brands? ASUs. Galaxy , msi
