Trying out Bunnyhug today. Smells amazing! Enzyme based option that requires 30ml liquid per regular load. It seems a tad expensive but I kind of like it so far. Will use it for a month and see how my clothes are.

any detergent will produce more foam if you use too much. Use in moderation and that should be OK.
Anyone rolled their own detergent from soap nuts -

So the reason why there's traditionally two SKUs for detergents, one for Front Loading and the other for Top Loading is basically suds.
Front loading machines require less suds, top loading more.
we use henko matic font load for over 6-7 yrs now, we changed after we found its way better than the normal front load wala surf.
last year when first lockdown happen and things went off selves , henko was not available we tried Ariel liquid, it was very much inferior in everything compared to the henko powder. much cheaper option tide powder was way better compared to the Ariel.
"eco-friendly" is new learning for me in this forum .. and scratching my head wondering how we can make a eco-friendly avatar of sodium, sulphate, etc

Eco friendly mostly uses natural products such as Bio Enzymes in place of Sulphates. Typically Citrus BE as used for laundry.

I use ariel liquid detergent.
Powder detergents fade the colour of the garments in the long run.
Machine will get stains in the inner tub and parts, when using powder detergent.

They don't do Tide liquid. Most detergents made in India from the big players contain fillers and just ruin your clothes. Powders clog machines and ruin clothes IMHO. Ariel Liquid is decent and not made in India and that's a good thing. Pods are good too, especially the 3 in 1 one variants.
Enzyme based laundry detergents are the next generation of products, they're more expensive, but you use less if they're good and they do take care of your fabrics well.
Henko I always felt was harsh on finer fabrics. Used to like Amway's SA8 too and their fine wash option for silks etc. There are spurious ones out there though now so I'm hesitant and am quite happy with the current options we're using.

Out of curiosity I picked up a pack of Ghadi machine wash detergent from Reliance fresh. It's priced at 85-90Rs/Kg. Used this quite a few times in my automatic top loader with normal load, quite satisfied with the result. I'd say it's quite VFM.
